Role Summary

The Director, SaaS Migration Program Execution, will be responsible for overseeing the entire migration process for Wolters Kluwer CCH Tagetik’s existing customer base. This position will own the transition from legacy deployment and commercial models to the strategic cloud platform and the latest packaging and pricing models. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the migration of commercial models for cloud customers who are still using legacy models.

  • Leading both the commercial and technical migration for on-premise customers.

This role is accountable for converting migration strategy into operational execution, coordinating cross-functional teams across Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Cloud Operations, Legal, Finance and Product.

The position requires a highly hands-on leader capable of driving customer migrations at scale while managing complex customer-specific situations, particularly within the on-premise installed base where commercial, contractual, technical and organizational complexity is highest.

The role serves as the central point of accountability for migration outcomes, capacity planning, execution governance, risk management, and business value realization.

Key responsibilities:

Migration portfolio management

  • Own the global SaaS migration portfolio, maintaining a consolidated view of all migration opportunities across customer cohorts and geographies.

  • Translate migration strategy into executable annual and quarterly migration plans, customer migration waves and measurable business outcomes.

  • Own customer prioritization, migration sequencing and cohort governance, continuously reassessing customer readiness, migration complexity and commercial opportunity throughout the migration lifecycle.

  • Recalibrate migration priorities and customer cohorts based on new customer information, migration outcomes and changing business priorities.

Migration program leadership

  • Lead execution of the global SaaS migration roadmap across all migration cohorts and regions.

  • Establish and operate the Migration Execution Office as the central coordination function across Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Consulting Partners, Cloud Operations, Finance, Legal and Product.

  • Orchestrate end-to-end execution across all participating functions, ensuring effective planning, dependency management, handovers and accountability throughout the migration process.

  • Ensure migration execution remains aligned with strategic objectives, customer commitments, available capacity and financial targets.

  • Drive consistent execution through standardized migration methodologies, operational playbooks, templates and governance processes.

Migration governance & performance management

  • Establish and facilitate the governance structure supporting the migration program including executive decision forums, operational reviews and performance reporting.

  • Define, monitor and continuously improve migration KPIs, dashboards and reporting to provide transparency on migration progress, customer status, commercial outcomes, delivery performance and business case realization.

  • Identify systemic bottlenecks, operational risks and recurring execution challenges, driving corrective actions across the organization.

  • Own migration exception management, ensuring customer, commercial, contractual, technical and operational escalations are resolved efficiently and consistently.

  • Ensure adherence to commercial guardrails, approval processes, pricing governance and migration policies.

Capacity planning & execution readiness

  • Define migration capacity requirements across Professional Services, Consulting Partners, Cloud Operations and supporting functions, balancing migration demand with available delivery resources.

  • Ensure migration readiness across all participating functions prior to each migration wave, including resource availability, governance, customer preparation and operational planning.

  • Provide executive recommendations on resource allocation, outsourcing opportunities, partner utilization and execution scalability.

Customer migration execution

On-premise customer migration (technical & commercial)

  • Oversee end-to-end execution of commercial and technical migrations from customer qualification through technical assessment, commercial design, implementation, testing, product transition and post-go-live optimization.

  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams throughout the migration lifecycle while proactively resolving delivery risks and execution blockers.

  • Ensure consistent execution quality across regions through standardized migration methodologies and operational standards.

Cloud customer migration (commercial)

  • Lead the commercial migration program for existing cloud customers transitioning to the new packaging and pricing model.

  • Partner with Sales and Renewal teams to execute structured, cohort-based commercial migrations aligned to predefined customer lifecycle triggers such as renewals, cloud expansion opportunities and cross-sell events.

  • Balance customer retention, migration velocity, commercial standardization and ARR realization while ensuring compliance with commercial governance and negotiation guardrails.

Continuous improvement

  • Capture lessons learned from completed migration waves and incorporate them into future migration planning, execution standards and governance processes.

  • Continuously improve migration methodologies, planning assumptions, operational playbooks, reporting and customer engagement models.

  • Drive increased standardization and scalability of migration execution while maintaining flexibility for strategic customer situations.

  • Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and optimize migration processes across commercial and technical functions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Engineering, Information Technology, Business or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale transformation, cloud migration, SaaS transition or customer lifecycle programs.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex enterprise customer implementations and migrations.

  • Strong program management, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.

  • Experience driving operational execution across commercial, technical and services organizations.

Preferred

  • Experience managing global customer transformation programs.

  • Knowledge of cloud migration methodologies and enterprise application modernization.

  • Familiarity with commercial transformation, pricing migrations and customer retention programs
