The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) seeks a dynamic and collaborative Associate Director of Student Lifecycle Engagement to join the Academic Strategy and Student Experience Team (ASSET). The Associate Director will develop, coordinate, and advance college-wide engagement strategies that strengthen alumni connection, constituent engagement, career transition, development alignment, and long-term affiliation with CISA.
Serving as a thought partner and strategic connector, the Associate Director will collaborate across ASSET, School Directors, faculty leaders, development and alumni partners, and other university stakeholders to build a coordinated approach to student and alumni engagement. This position will help connect student experiences, alumni participation, employer relationships, philanthropic opportunities, and school-level priorities to strengthen student success, applied learning, career transition, and lifelong affiliation with CISA.
CISA is an interdisciplinary, multi-campus college with a strong emphasis on applied and experiential learning. As one of three liberal arts colleges at ASU, CISA offers foundational and professional education spanning the humanities, social and natural sciences, mathematics, and career-connected fields, equipping students with the knowledge and transferable skills needed to engage and contribute locally, nationally, and globally.
This position is based on the Polytechnic campus and requires travel to CISA’s other ASU campus locations and surrounding communities to support meetings, events, partnerships, and college-wide engagement activities.

Essential Duties:
Leadership, Strategy, and Student Lifecycle Engagement
Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director, School Directors, development partners, and college leadership in identifying opportunities for emerging alumni, philanthropic alignment, constituent engagement, and long-term affiliation with CISA.
Identify, strengthen, and lead strategic initiatives focused on later-stage student engagement, alumni mentoring, post-graduation connection, and career transition.
Partner with School Directors, faculty leaders, and college leadership to identify school-specific alumni, employer, community, and constituent engagement opportunities aligned with academic programs, applied learning, student success, and workforce pathways. Design, pilot, and scale repeatable models that connect across CISA’s schools, campuses, and modalities.
Serve as a liaison among ASSET units, academic units, development, employer engagement, and college leadership.
Represent CISA on relevant college and university committees and prepare reports, briefings, presentations, and recommendations for college leadership.
Provide strategic recommendations to ASSET, School Directors, and college leadership on emerging alumni, partner, workforce, and constituent engagement opportunities.
Partnership and Constituent Engagement
Collaborate with the Manager of Employer Engagement to connect employer and internship initiatives to broader lifecycle engagement, alumni mentoring, career transition, and constituent engagement strategies.
Map current CISA alumni engagement activity and opportunities to strengthen a coordinated college-wide strategy for alumni mentoring, career connection, participation, storytelling, and long-term engagement.
Collaborate strategically with student-facing teams across the college to strengthen connection and belonging by developing pathways that foster meaningful relationships, shared interests, and sustained engagement throughout the student lifecycle.
Coordinate alumni-related communications, events, partner stories, and engagement opportunities in collaboration with Marketing and Communications, SEET, development, employer engagement, and school partners.
Assessment, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
Develop methods to track engagement activities and assess effectiveness of lifecycle engagement initiatives and recommend improvements.
Prepare regular updates for ASSET and college leadership on key activities, outcomes, opportunities, and emerging needs.
Identify gaps, trends, and opportunities across the student lifecycle and recommend strategies to improve coordination and impact.
Collaboration and Additional Responsibilities
Participate in departmental, college, and university-wide initiatives and meetings to represent the college’s financial interests and support integrated, collaborative outcomes.
Support additional projects, initiatives, and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field, and three (3) years’ experience in one or more of the following: student engagement, student success, advising, recruitment/retention, alumni engagement, career development, employer relations, internship programs, partnership development, advancement/development support, or other related student services in a college/university environment
Within the required professional experience, three or more years of experience supporting alumni, philanthropic, community partner, or other constituent relationships in ways that advance student success, institutional priorities, or partnership goals.
Experience cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as alumni, employers, donors, faculty, community partners, university leaders, staff, or students, to advance student success or institutional priorities.
Experience working with academic leaders, faculty, schools, departments, or university partners to align engagement, partnership, student success, applied learning, or constituent engagement initiatives with academic priorities.
Experience designing, scaling, or improving programs that connect students to mentoring, applied learning, internships, career readiness, alumni participation, multi-campus engagement, online engagement, or post-graduation connection.
Demonstrated experience using data, assessment, reports, surveys, participation trends, or stakeholder feedback to evaluate programs, guide strategy, and recommend improvements.
Working Environment
Days and Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., evenings and weekends may occasionally be required.
Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, phone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds (5%).
This position requires the ability to travel to engage across CISA’s three primary campus locations and surrounding communities for meetings, events, employer visits, alumni engagement, donor-adjacent activities, and partner relationship development.
Hybrid work is an option for CISA employees. Hybrid arrangements allow employees to spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or Provost level approval is required.
