  • Full time, fixed term for 12 months

  • Base Salary $107,312 + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Preventative Education Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the University’s gender-based violence and sexual harm prevention programs and initiatives. Working within the Safer Communities Office, you will coordinate, administer and evaluate a range of preventative education activities that promote awareness, engagement and safer campus experiences for students and staff. This role contributes to continuous improvement and supports the University's commitment to meeting sector-wide standards and best practice.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work closely with the Safer Communities team, Education and Innovation team, and internal stakeholders across the University

  • coordinate preventative education activities including enrolments, scheduling, communications and attendance tracking

  • support the delivery of workshops, campaigns, activations and awareness initiatives across the University community

  • administer preventative education content and enrolments through Canvas and other learning platforms

  • maintain program data and prepare reports, dashboards and insights to support evaluation and continuous improvement

  • coordinate communications, promotional materials, surveys and feedback activities to support program engagement and effectiveness.

About you

  • bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

  • experience supporting education, engagement or student experience programs in a tertiary education environment

  • experience maintaining program data and producing reports, dashboards or insights to support evaluation and decision-making

  • demonstrated experience using learning management systems, CRM systems and other digital platforms to support program delivery

  • experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures and administrative processes

  • current Working with Children Check (WWCC), or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  Your employment is conditional upon the successful completion of all pre-employment or background checks required for the role in terms satisfactory to the University.  Also, to meet the University’s obligations under the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Eliminate Gender-Based Violence you will be asked to declare if you have been investigated for, or found to engaged in, sexual harm or gender-based violence in the course of previous employment or in a legal process. Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements. If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.

This position is designated as involving child-related work. To undertake or remain in this position, you are required to apply for and obtain a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
