What We Can Achieve Together:
The Conservation Analyst supports the Belize Program Office by providing planning, coordination, and analytical support for conservation programs and operational activities. This includes organizing meetings and events, taking minutes, maintaining accurate document management systems, and supporting procurement processes. The role also assists with budget monitoring, report tracking, and general administrative support to program staff working toward the achievement of protection, conservation, and stewardship goals.
The Conservation Analyst is responsible for coordinating tasks across conservation programs including, planning and executing logistics for meetings and events, collecting and managing project data, maintaining organized records and ensuring timely documentation proceedings. The role plays a key part in monitoring and evaluation processes by supporting the collection, validation and analysis of program data to track performance against targets and indicators. They will support the synthesis of program data into technical and donor reports, and internal updates, contributing to evidence-based decision-making and adaptive management. Additionally, the Conservation Analyst may perform finance and administrative functions, including procurement, expense tracking, and monitoring budgets. They will use established systems and tools to maintain, track, research and analyse data, to produce and review reports. The role also involves documenting workflows, procedures and best practices for institutional knowledge and continuous improvement.
The Conservation Analyst will maintain frequent interaction with program staff, other Conservancy offices, and external vendors. They may respond to inquiries about Program activities and assist in the development of Program materials and correspondence. Given that some responsibilities involve handling sensitive information, the role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion and strict adherence to confidentiality standards.
The Conservation Analyst will report to the Belize Portfolio Management Officer.

Responsibilities & Scope
Provides planning and logistical support for meetings & events including scheduling and recording meeting minutes for various Boards, and Committees and collating decisions, articles and supporting documents.
Provides support for budget development, tracking and financial reports. May also include fundraising support for conservation programs.
Supports HUB platform maintenance in coordination with the Portfolio Management Officer
Coordinates programmatic reports for regular updates to the conservation hub (and/or other systems) and for reporting to conservation and leadership teams.
Manages and maintains electronic shared files and folders in TNC official platforms
Assists with the internal contractual processes and facilitates payment for vendors in close collaboration with the Operations Administrator.
Assists Portfolio Management Officer with the gathering, development of reports/communication materials for internal/external audiences.
Assists Portfolio Management Officer and conservation team in reviewing, collecting, organizing and reporting project indicators, metrics and targets, ensuring their contribution to TNC’s global goals and relevant national conservation priorities.
Supports the implementation, tracking and reporting of MEL activities aligned with the program goals, including indicators, baselines, targets, and data collection methodologies.
Supports the coordination, training and/or implementation of conservation management system (CMS) tools across programs
Provides support with stakeholder engagement and related activities as needed.
Coordinates multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
Ensures compliance with TNC internal policies, procedures, and external requirements.
Does not supervise staff but may oversee volunteers or interns.
Makes day to day decision as delegated by the supervisor.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s of Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or a related field; or two years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Experience coordinating multiple projects and planning/organizing agendas/events.
Experience in report writing, editing, and proofreading.
Experience handling standard business communications.
Possess a valid Driver’s License
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated
2-4 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to complete tasks independently within assigned time frames.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources and work independently.
Ability to coordinate project information from a number of sources to populate databases, create reports and produce manual/digital files.
Experience utilizing databases for data entry and report production preferred.
Strong attention to detail and numerical ability.
Ability to plan, administer and record results of work-team meetings and activities.
Technologically savvy.
Experience in developing and implementing MEL frameworks.
Business qualifications supplemented by relevant conservation experience is an asset.
