Job Summary
Responsible for guiding the advancement of an orthopedic system of care throughout the Enterprise. Leads a vision for orthopedic services across the continuum of care, from general orthopedics in the community to advanced orthopedic surgery and treatment requiring a tertiary/quaternary level of care. Oversee the management of the Orthopedics Institute and will have accountability for the Institute's clinical services and financial performance. Fosters and supports the growth and advancement of clinical excellence, patient experience and alignment with the vision and mission of Prisma Health. Oversee and promote the continuing education of faculty and strengthens its educational mission. Serve as an important spokesperson for orthopedic care. Responsibilities include overseeing the quality, efficiency, and access to clinical care delivered; supporting training programs; developing faculty and trainees; strengthening collaborative regional relationships; enhancing outreach activities; and advancing a culture of excellence dedicated to consistency in clinical care standards, driven by patient safety requirements and clinical outcomes monitoring.Essential Functions

Establishes strategic direction and defined objectives in collaboration with system leaders for Orthopedics Institute services for clinical improvement, growth, and the expansion of services.
Develops a cooperative, collaborative, and cohesive Institute. Fosters positive relationships with physicians including community and referring providers.
Guides faculty to realize the highest level of excellence in current practice and toward future practices that define the leading edge in the profession, making it a model among its peers.
Collaborates in the development of Orthopedics Institute business planning to effectively, productively, equitably, and efficiently support the mission of Prisma Health.
Establishes appropriate communication channels with clinicians and administration that results in trust, alignment, and collaborative working relationships across all care sites.
Ensures compliance with standards of ethics, applicable internal and external policies, and medical staff by-laws.
Provides ongoing direction and oversight for all operations and services ensuring excellence in quality, performance, family experience and value to the community.
Leads the performance metrics with a high priority focus on quality, safety and clinical utilization metrics, demonstrated outcomes and best practice targets. Identifies areas of practice variation and manages escalated quality issues.
Establishes and maintains high standards of professional practice and a culture of accountability.
Provides effective mentoring and career development of Institute faculty.
Supports physicians in attracting, leveraging and retaining sponsored clinical research and funding.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have two or more direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Medical Degree from accredited institution
Experience -Ten (10) years clinical practice and increasing level of demonstrated leadership responsibility in a high-performing, contemporary, academic division/department, and/or orthopedic service line.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Eligible for licensure in the state in which work is performed
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine (orthopedic), spine surgery (orthopedic), or a related orthopedic subspecialty.
