Roles And Responsibilities
The Tree Projects Engineer performs a variety of engineering work in the development and execution of Subsea Tree Projects in accordance with industry standards and client requirements. This may include preparing technical documentation for customers, performing engineering calculations to analyze operating parameters and, at times, leading a team of Mechanical engineers within a project.
- Accountable for the engineering execution of technical projects that meet internal and client requirements while managing project deliverables, engineering budgets, schedules, and customer interfaces.
- Bring together the various internal stakeholders together and liaising with the client.
- Responsible for the top level design and documentation, including testing procedures, assembly drawings, design specifications, schematics and operating manuals.
- Leading project design reviews both internal and external.
- Providing regular updates to Engineering Management on the status and progress of assigned projects .
- Monitor/expedite manufacturing / testing and provide technical support to manufacturing/assembly.
- Perform specification review and provide technical guidance.
- Discuss the customer’s requirements and identify OneSubsea products and solutions which meet these requirements.
- Review product solutions as bid against awarded and identify and assist to resolve variances with project management.
- Adherence to OneSubsea internal processes.
- To reflect and promote OneSubsea’s mindset of Commitment, Integrity, Teamwork, and Drive.
- Ensure all aspects of product comply with client technical specifications and relevant industry standards i.e engineering, manufacture, Health, Safety and Environment, cost, form fit & function have been correctly identified and addressed.
- To ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner in line with company health and safety guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including communication with project team members and client to ensure directions are understood.
- Strong problem solving skills, able to delegate effectively, and follow through appropriately.
- Must be able to interpret detailed drawings, technical direction, codes, and design standards.
- Facilitate various project meetings - internal and external - to ensure project is delivered on schedule.
- May be indirectly accountable for supervising, training, developing, motivating and guiding subordinate personnel to achieve project objectives. Guides and coordinates efforts of drafters and technologists.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Experience in Subsea Trees.
- 5 or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Subsea Systems, Subsea projects
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent organization skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Thorough understanding of machining, manufacturing, hydraulic drawings
- Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP, ANSYS, MathCad, AutoCad and Inventor
- Additional experience with ASME, DNV and API design methodologies
- Knowledge of Subsea projects and products (trees, connection systems, manifolds, jumpers, wellheads, and controls)
