Description
The Hospitality Attendant is responsible for ensuring the Recreation Center is accessible, clean, safe, and fully functional for residents during designated evening and weekend hours. The position performs front desk duties, including registering and checking in participants for programs, camps, events, and private rentals, as well as assisting with facility setup, equipment preparation, and breakdown. Responsibilities include operating the concession stand, opening and closing procedures, preparing and serving food, providing customer service, and completing cleaning duties during and after operating hours. Additional responsibilities include supporting programs, special events, and other activities throughout the Recreation and Event Center. Under general supervision of the Recreation Facility Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of recreation facilities and concession areas. Duties include preparing facilities and the concession stand for use, opening and closing procedures, setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, programs, rentals, and events, and assisting users, renters, and program participants. Responsibilities also include registering participants for recreational programs and events, maintaining cleanliness and organization of facilities and food preparation areas in accordance with health code and safety standards, performing light maintenance, supervising rental facilities when full-time staff is not present, and providing support to supervisors. The position also works with users during events, cleans and rearranges facilities following programs and events, and performs other duties as required.

- Attention to Detail- Concession workers are required to follow instructions for food preparation and adhere to company policies, including health guidelines.
- Customer Service- Providing excellent customer service is a crucial aspect of the concession attendant role. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and manage interactions in high-stress situations.
- Collaboration- The ability to work well in a team is essential, as multiple staff members must cooperate to manage large crowds effectively.
- Communication Skills- Workers should be effective communicators with customers and among themselves while on duty.
- Multitasking- Similar to fast-food workers, concession attendants need to be agile and capable of multitasking efficiently. They will likely be handling multiple orders simultaneously during their shifts.
- Must be professional, organized and have experience in the food industry or customer service. Must possess the physical ability to set up/move equipment and efficiently use the kiosk register. Must be able to work with limited on-site supervision.
- NC class C Drivers license
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational support functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and to contact with potentially infectious bodily fluids.
