Team / division overview

The COO Division is a key enabler for DWS and is integral to the future success of the company by delivering world-class services across a set of key functions. It covers essential Technology and Operations capabilities to deliver a platform which is efficient, scalable, resilient and agile.

As part of the COO function, the Global Reporting & Performance Measurement department plays a central role in delivering high-quality client-specific and regulatory reporting across the full DWS Active, Passive and Alternatives business. The Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for the timely, accurate and controlled generation, publication and distribution of regulatory reports and internal evaluations, ensuring that reporting obligations are met with the required level of precision, consistency and governance. The team works closely with external stakeholders including clients, auditors and supervisory authorities, while partnering with internal functions to ensure smooth process flows, clear communication and effective coordination across multiple interfaces.

As part of this agenda, the successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to automation, AI-enabled process improvement, data-driven controls and smart workflow design, while ensuring that operational risk, auditability and sound governance remain embedded in everything the team delivers.

Your responsibilities –

As our Operations Specialist- Regulatory Reporting- AVP you will:

  • Prepare, monitor, dispatch and coordinate regulatory reports and ad hoc requests in a timely, accurate and controlled manner, with particular focus on MiFID client-related requirements such as Article 50, 59, 60 and 62.
  • Support regulatory reporting processes across MiFID and PRIIPs transaction costs, position reporting, AIFMD, ECB, Money Market Fund Reporting (MMFR), and banking or insurance regulatory reporting such as CRR II, Solvency II and VAG.
  • Prepare, coordinate and dispatch Annual Reports for our DWS Funds incl. financial writing and coordination with the external auditors
  • Act as a trusted coordination point for regulatory reporting queries, working closely with clients, auditors, supervisory authorities, internal Operations teams, Compliance, Portfolio Management, Technology and other functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth end-to-end process flow by coordinating, organizing and monitoring internal interfaces, proactively managing dependencies, risks and timelines across reporting cycles.
  • Support IT implementation activity by contributing business expertise to the development, testing and optimization of relevant regulatory reporting solutions, ensuring that requirements are clearly translated into scalable and controlled system functionality.
  • Independently manage and drive project work related to legislative changes, regulatory developments, process improvements and process expansions, ensuring effective delivery and clear communication across functional teams.
  • Maintain, enhance and evidence required process documentation, operating procedures and control materials to support auditability, transparency, knowledge sharing and consistent execution across the team.
  • Contribute to the Smart Middle Office agenda by identifying opportunities to apply AI, machine learning, workflow automation and data analytics to reduce manual intervention, improve exception management, strengthen predictive controls and enhance operational transparency.
  • Translate regulatory reporting pain points into clear automation or AI use cases, working with Technology, transformation partners and operational SMEs to shape practical solutions that are controlled, scalable and aligned to business priorities.

We are looking for:   

  • Successfully completed degree in economics with a focus on regulatory reporting, finance, business administration or a comparable qualification.
  • Approximately five years of professional experience at a capital management company, asset manager, bank or comparable financial services institution, ideally within regulatory reporting or a closely related regulatory function.
  • Fluent written and spoken French is a must for the preparation and coordination of annual reports for our DWS Funds.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; German language skills would be advantageous but are not required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including advanced Excel capabilities, VBA and Python.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with one or more of the regulatory reporting regimes mentioned above, such as MiFID, PRIIPs transaction costs, position reporting, AIFMD, ECB reporting, MMFR, CRR II, Solvency II or VAG, would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skillset with the ability to understand regulatory requirements, interpret data, identify issues and support controlled, timely and accurate reporting outcomes.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently as a subject matter expert.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across a matrix, global organization.
  • Proactive approach to identifying control gaps and improving data quality frameworks.
