We're looking for a Finance Transactional Services Manager to join our Finance team in Edinburgh. This is a key Finance role responsible for overseeing the efficient processing, control and governance of transactional finance activities across the AAM UK Group of companies.
Managing a small team, you will ensure critical finance processes operate effectively, payments are processed accurately and on time and robust controls are maintained across a range of financial activities. You will also play an important role in driving continuous improvement, enhancing processes and supporting the wider Finance function to deliver a high-quality service to the business.
Key Responsibilities for the role include:
- Leading and developing a small team responsible for transactional finance activities across the AAM UK Group.
- Overseeing and controlling company bank accounts, including daily reconciliations and associated journal postings.
- Managing payment processing and bank transfers through Bankline, ensuring strong controls and accurate financial recording.
- Overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring approved invoices are paid on time, supplier queries are resolved and an accurate creditors ledger is maintained.
- Managing corporate payments and associated accounting entries.
- Overseeing corporate credit card administration and ensuring company expenditure is appropriately monitored and recovered where required.
- Ensuring payments to travel, reward and benefit providers are processed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register, processing depreciation journals and contributing towards intercompany balance reconciliations for AAM UK within the AAM Group.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and increase operational efficiency within the Finance function.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ICAS.
- Previous management experience within a finance or transactional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, banking, reconciliations, payroll-related processes and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and drive solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge constructively at all levels.
- A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- The ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong systems and technology skills, with the ability to leverage tools and processes to improve efficiency and control.
