POSTING CLOSE DATE: September 24, 2026
BCI's Partnership Portfolio team is hiring a Director to source, underwrite, execute, and monitor credit-related investments and adjacent alternative asset classes within the Global Partnership Fund.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Partnership Portfolio, you'll join a team of 12+ investment professionals managing commitments approaching C$23 billion, working across fund commitments, co-investments, and direct transactions while leading and mentoring junior team members.
We're looking for someone with deep credit investing experience (8-10+ years) across disciplines like private credit, direct lending, structured or asset-backed credit, distressed situations, or leveraged finance, or a shorter track record in credit investing paired with equivalent transaction structuring or advisory experience. Strong credit underwriting and structuring expertise across the capital structure is essential, along with the analytical rigor to model transactions and the relationship skills to source and manage co-investments and fund commitments.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Managing Director, Partnership Portfolio, the Director plays a leading role within a dedicated team of 12+ investment professionals managing investment commitments approaching C$23 billion.
The Director sources, underwrites, executes, and monitors credit-related investments and adjacent alternative asset classes, spanning fund commitments, co-investments, and direct transactions pursued alongside the Managing Director and external partners. The role combines rigorous credit and structuring analysis with active portfolio monitoring and management, relationship development, and leadership of junior team members.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Capital Markets & Credit Investments (CM&CI) department manages C$165B of capital markets and credit investments (56% of total net AUM of BCI). As a leader in responsible investing, CM&CI actively integrates ESG factors into investment analysis and decision-making processes across all strategies.
The Partnership Portfolio and Public Equities team manages long-only active internal and external equity mandates and absolute return strategies through the Global Partnership Fund (GPF). The team selects and monitors external equity managers for BCI's active equity funds and has established a strong reputation as a sophisticated and agile co-investor. The GPF has delivered strong annualized returns through its absolute return investment strategy, with over 60% of new deployments directed toward co-investment opportunities that offer enhanced control over asset selection and risk management. The team leverages external expertise to complement BCI's internal capabilities and capitalizes on opportunities across various sectors, with notable focus on artificial intelligence, energy demand, and ESG investments.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, model transactions, and provide actionable insights.
Superior writing and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality reports, memoranda, and presentations.
