Description
**This position is for the Alternative Programs department at the Twin Peaks Center. The hours for the current vacancy are 12 hours/week (Tuesday 6 hours and Thursday 6 hours), and it is a 9.5-month-a-year position. **
Please note: This position is not benefit-eligibleParticipate in the planning and implementation of the Independent Study Program at an assigned site; present instructional materials and determine appropriate instructional approach; assist in planning, design, development, and revision of curricular materials for the assigned program. E
Assess student readiness, abilities and needs and review and modify individual student assignments as needed; analyze student interests, aptitudes, career plans and skill levels; explain and demonstrate concepts and skills; communicate with teachers regarding effective course modification recommendations. E
Review schoolwork with students; discuss questions or answers, student ideas and opinions, goals and other matters with students; prepare and explain weekly school assignments; grade assignments, midterm finals, projects and other documents. E
Prepare course completion or incomplete status forms as appropriate and submit to teachers for review and action; prepare and maintain attendance records and course contracts. E
Communicate with parents, counselors, truant officers and others to exchange information regarding students; contact students or parents regarding absences and reschedule classes as needed. E
Operate a computer and other office equipment as assigned. E
Perform related duties as assigned.
Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and one year experience working with students in a classroom environment.
