Management Level:
M1The Hides/Tannery Sr. Supervisor is responsible for supervising production team members and overseeing daily operations within the Tannery Department. This position ensures adherence to quality standards, safety requirements, operational procedures, and departmental objectives while supporting a productive and efficient work environment.
The Sr. Supervisor works closely with the management team to achieve business goals, accepts full accountability for assigned areas, and maintains responsibility for day-to-day departmental performance. The successful candidate must be a strong leader and team player, demonstrate effective leadership and time management skills, and ensure compliance with all company policies, human resources guidelines, safety requirements, and operational procedures.
This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, support continuous improvement efforts, and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial, hides, tannery, or processing environment required, with the ability to lead teams, drive performance, and achieve operational objectives; experience coaching, mentoring, and developing employees, supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives, and 1+ year of Catwalk and Drum operating experience are preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills required. Bilingual skills are helpful.
Travel: Minimal travel required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising a group of team members performing various production tasks and activities while providing leadership, direction, coaching, and support to achieve departmental goals.
Special Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Other Requirements: Ability to pass a respiratory physical examination, accurately complete required Tyson documentation and paperwork, lead by example while motivating and developing the hourly workforce, and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications: Forklift experience, technical or mechanical aptitude related to hides and tannery operations, and experience working with production equipment and processes in a tannery or industrial manufacturing environment are preferred.
