Digital Hands is seeking an experienced Network Security Administrator II, Fortinet Firewall Specialist to join our growing Security Operations Center (SOC). This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on securing and optimizing enterprise customer environments through the administration, management, and support of advanced firewall technologies, with a primary emphasis on Fortinet solutions.
In this position, you'll play a critical role in protecting our customers from evolving cyber threats by designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing firewall and network security solutions. You'll work directly with customer IT and security teams, collaborate with leading security vendors, and serve as a trusted technical advisor responsible for maintaining strong security postures across diverse environments.

This is a full-time, onsite position located at Digital Hands Headquarters in Tampa, Florida, working hours can vary depending on business need.
About You
You're a Security Specialist: You have extensive experience managing enterprise firewall environments and can confidently implement, troubleshoot, and optimize complex security solutions.
You're a Fortinet Expert: You bring deep hands-on knowledge of FortiGate, FortiManager, and Fortinet security technologies, including firewall policy management, rule optimization, and platform administration.
You're Customer-Focused: You understand that security isn't just about technology. You work closely with customers to understand their business requirements and deliver practical, effective solutions.
You're a Problem Solver: You enjoy investigating issues, performing root-cause analysis, and developing long-term solutions that improve reliability and security.
You're Continuously Learning: Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, and you stay informed about emerging threats, security trends, and new technologies that can strengthen customer environments.
What You'll Do
Manage Firewall Environments: Administer, support, and optimize customer firewall infrastructures, including change management, policy deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
Protect Customer Networks: Analyze security requirements, implement network security controls, and recommend improvements that strengthen overall customer security posture.
Serve as a Technical Advisor: Collaborate with customer IT and security teams while acting as a subject matter expert on firewall technologies and network security best practices.
Monitor and Improve Security Operations: Maintain solution health, create monitoring alerts and dashboards, perform security assessments, and ensure critical systems remain secure and operational.
Partner with Vendors and Internal Teams: Work closely with security vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues, support implementations, and improve operational efficiency.
Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to operational documentation, SOP development, business continuity planning, and the evaluation of new cybersecurity technologies.
What You Bring
Strong Fortinet Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience with FortiGate, FortiManager, and enterprise firewall technologies.
Enterprise Security Expertise: Proven experience implementing, managing, and maintaining firewall policies, rule sets, and security controls across enterprise environments.
MSSP or Managed Services Background: Experience supporting customers in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), or similar services-focused organization preferred.
Broad Network Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of network and security protocols including DNS, SSL/TLS, NAT, VPN/IPSec, and related technologies.
Multi-Vendor Experience: Familiarity with additional firewall solutions such as Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Cisco, and Juniper is highly desirable.
Modern Security Experience: Exposure to Web Application Firewalls (WAF), SD-WAN, SASE, vulnerability management, and network security monitoring solutions.
Technical Foundation: Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and UNIX operating systems, with scripting or automation experience considered a plus.
Professional Certifications: Certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4/5, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, PCNSA, PCNSE, Security+, or Network+ are highly desirable.
