HR Administrative Assistant
Type: In-Office | Part-Time | Temporary

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent HR graduate or junior HR professional to gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of human resources functions, including leaves, disability management, accommodations, benefits administration, and HR processes. Working closely with an experienced HR team, this role offers valuable exposure to several areas of HR while developing practical administrative and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
As the HR Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the HR team, helping ensure employee leave, disability and benefits processes are managed accurately and efficiently.
Leave & Disability Administration:
- Provide administrative support throughout the disability management process for non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Assist with coordinating return-to-work and accommodation processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date absence and leave records.
- Liaise with a third-party administrator as required throughout the disability management process.
HR & Benefits Support:
- Assist HR Business Partners and leaders with administrative questions related to sick time, leaves, and employee absences.
- Administer employee leaves within the organization's HR system and ensure information is entered accurately and on a timely basis.
- Liaise with Payroll to ensure leave information is communicated and processed appropriately.
- Gain exposure to employee benefits and related HR processes while supporting the broader HR team.
General Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the HR team as required.
- Assist with invoicing entry and other routine data-entry responsibilities.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation while handling confidential employee information with discretion.
- Support additional HR and administrative projects as required.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Recent HR graduates and candidates with some previous HR administrative experience are encouraged to apply.
- Previous exposure to benefits, employee leaves, disability management, or accommodations is an asset but not required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with an HRIS is an asset.
- Previous experience with Workday is an asset, but not required.
- Strong data-entry and administrative skills with a high level of accuracy.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive employee information.
- Professional and approachable communication style with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and priorities in a timely manner.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in an in-office environment.
Additional Details:
- Compensation: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Schedule: 3 days per week, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Preferred Days: Tuesday–Thursday, with some flexibility
- Location: Central Edmonton
- Work Arrangement: In-office
- Employment Type: Part-time contract
