Join our Haleon Global Equipment & Maintenance team based in London, for a 12-month industrial placement, starting 28th June 2027.

This placement presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering operations, projects and maintenance engineering within a global consumer healthcare setting. You’ll play a key role in supporting the implementation of advanced technologies—including latest manufacturing equipment, equipment innovations, automation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and maintenance —while contributing to Haleon’s strategic ‘Build for Tomorrow’ transformation programme.

 

As an Equipment & Maintenance Engineering placement student, you’ll be exposed to a wide range of engineering activities, enabling you to develop a broad and versatile skill set.

 

Throughout your placement, you will have the opportunity to:

• Gain insights from subject matter experts, enhancing your technical and professional development.
• Engage with emerging technologies, including advanced equipment systems and digital tools.
• Collaborate across functions, working with teams in EHS, Quality, IT, Technical, and Procurement to support the seamless integration of equipment and digital solutions.
• Contribute to analytics initiatives, supporting data modelling, visualisation (e.g., Power BI), and performance tracking for engineering and transformation projects.
• Support project coordination, assisting in the planning, execution, and delivery of automation and digital engineering projects.

 

Requirements:

We welcome applicants currently studying for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering & Engineering Management who are creative problem-solvers and enjoy collaborating with global teams to apply. Other relevant disciplines will be considered.

A genuine passion for innovation and emerging technologies, with a desire to contribute to forward-thinking engineering solutions.

If you are studying for your Undergraduate Degree you must be in your 2nd year of study (England) or 3rd year of study (Scotland) or an Integrated Masters Degree and seeking to complete a year in industry in partnership with your university.  Please ensure the role is suitable for your placement year.

Application Process:

• Application – information will be required regarding your education and Right to Work.
• Online Assessment – you will be asked to complete a behaviour based online assessment and one-way video interview supported by Hirevue.
• Interview – if selected you will be invited to attend a final stage virtual interview; The interview will consist of a competency-based interview and may include a case study/technical exercise.
• Offer – candidates will receive an outcome within 2 weeks following interview.

 

Interviews will be held in November/December 2026
