Nursing Program Navigator (full-time/1950 hours/year/LTE) @ Any Northwood Tech Campus Location

Overview

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Nursing Program Navigator at any of our four campus locations. (Ashland, New Richmond, Rice Lake or Superior)

 

The Nursing Program Navigator serves as a key student success professional dedicated to supporting prospective and current nursing students from early enrollment through program completion. This position provides personalized guidance, proactive outreach, and coordinated support to help students successfully navigate enrollment processes, academic requirements, program milestones, and college resources. Acting as a central point of contact, the Nursing Program Navigator collaborates closely with nursing faculty, advisors, counselors, admissions staff, and student support departments to remove barriers, strengthen student engagement, and promote persistence, retention, and completion.

 

This position requires a strong commitment to student success, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners in support of successful course and program completion. This position reports to the Dean of Nursing. Schedule: This position offers a flexible Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional weekend coverage based on events and student needs.

 

This is an LTE position with grant funding through September 30, 2027.

• Navigate students through course and program completion.
• Provide direct assistance to prospective and current students
• Serve as liaison between students and Collegewide departments, such as Student Finance, Admissions, Academic Support, etc.
• Schedule and facilitate informational sessions, both on campus and virtually, for Nursing program students.
• Complete grant administrative and reporting activities as assigned.
• Serves as point of contact for nursing program students, providing personalized guidance through multiple communication channels and helping students navigate enrollment requirements, academic preparedness requirements, course placement, and the college experience through various communication channels
• Collaborate with program counselors, pre-core nursing advisor, and ATI Launch/Admissions coordinator to support nursing students’ successful transition into core program courses
• Assess student and college needs, and collaborate to adapt services, resolve issues and connect students with appropriate college resources and support services
• Build strong relationships with students, nursing faculty, college staff, and other institutional stakeholders by maintaining a consistent presence, initiating dialogue, and connecting students to appropriate resources
• Identify gaps in support and collaborate with others to develop strategies to increase course and program completion
• Holds regular hours to support students in accessing college support resources
• Collaborate with institutional and community stakeholders by participating in appropriate meetings, including but not limited to the ADN Strategic Enrollment Management Team
• Proctor exams
• Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Degree & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent*
• Two years related work experience
• One year supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent**

*Equivalent educational/occupational experience may be an Associate degree in a related field plus four years of additional related work experience may be considered in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.

**One additional year of related work experience may be considered in lieu of supervisory/leadership experience.

• Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of research based best practices in academic advising and student success
• Experience participating in student success initiatives or retention focused programs

Salary

FY27 Salary - Grade K - $30.73 / hour
