CDL A Local Intermodal Driver - Weekend Wrap

A $10,000 sign-on bonus, home every night and trucks averaging 2 years old. Local intermodal work out of Harrisburg, PA, where drivers average $1,769 a week.

What You Get

What You Get Paid For

• $0.62 to $0.67 per mile
• $88 per live stop
• $57 per drop and hook
• $23 to $33 per hour detention after the first hour
• $45 per driver load or unload, $25 per driver assist
• $40 per hazmat load, $40 per reefer load
• $23 per hour for rail delays, breakdowns, yard checks and safety meetings
• $25 per crosstown or empty move
• $210 per day holiday pay
• $200 per day during new hire training

The Schedule

• Weekend Wrap: Thursday to Monday or Friday to Tuesday
• Start Times: between 4 PM and 11 PM, set together with your manager on your welcome call
• Flexibility Required: you must be willing to take any of these start times
• Seniority Counts: better shifts open up by tenure
• Holidays: Christmas off, Thanksgiving and New Year's may be worked

The Work

• Pull containers in and out of the 2 Harrisburg rail yards
• 2 to 5 loads per day
• No New York City
• Automatic and manual day cabs, slip seat, trucks stay at the Harrisburg terminal

Requirements

• Non-smokers only
• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Able to drive both manual and automatic trucks (unless you hold an automatic restriction)
• Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire
• No more than 2 moving violations, no careless or reckless driving and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and must pass hair and urine drug testing
