Senior Test Analyst

This position is onsite #LI-Onsite

Would you like to play an important role in the Testing Centre of Excellence? Reporting to the Manager, Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE), you will lead planning, designing, executing and reporting on software testing activities and results for assigned projects. You will craft and execute test strategies, test cases, coordinate the resolution of defects and bugs, and ensure effective use of available testing tools. You will work with other testers that may require assistance with their testing activities, create test plans and test executions.

About the Role

  • Provide regular and timely reporting on the status of test planning, testing metrics, defects, and execution activities, including providing regular status updates to the project team and executives
  • Lead and conduct project gate reviews to ensure they adhere to gating criteria
  • Participate in all SDLC lifecycle phases using the following methodologies (Hybrid/Waterfall/Agile) for small to mid-sized projects, complete test planning /strategy, and test estimation processes
  • Gather process requirements and analyze information to ensure appropriate test coverage.  Recommend the different types of testing and approach that is required
  • Communicate and negotiate testing timelines, resources, scope, and critical targets with project managers and the TCoE manager from an efficiency and a risk management perspective
  • Conduct Risk based assessments to ensure we have the right amount of testing in the correct areas
  • Ensure timely notification of issues, risks, and problems, and make recommendations for resolution and/or escalation to the appropriate manager
  • Create automation-ready manual test cases or recommend automated regression suites for and end-to-end test cases; modify existing scripts when they fail to run
  • Conduct functional, E2E, System, SIT and UAT testing where required as well as conduct bug triage meetings
  • Guide, assist and provide mentorship to project testing resources on policies, procedures and testing activities associated with the TCoE processes
  • Other duties as required

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of IT Quality Assurance and execution experience on projects in agile and waterfall environments
  • 5+ years experience in testing mobile, web, and back-end services
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Zephyr, confluence
  • Strong manual and automated testing proficiency using industry standard best practice quality assurance techniques and methodologies, preference will be given to individuals that have some test automation hands-on experience maintaining and executing scripts
  • Some Retail system testing would be considered an asset
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, with good communication skills; enjoy working with all levels of business
  • Adept at managing and meeting multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines in a highly matrixed organization

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with SAAS Based applications: SAP, BY OMS, AFW, GK POS
  • Experience with TOSCA automation tool
  • In-depth experience in maintaining test automation scripts and a dedication to continuous improvement
  • QAI CSTE, ISTQB Certification or equivalent experience
