Engineering Lead / Technical Lead — Customer & Digital Platforms

The Engineering Lead will lead and mentor a software-engineering team while remaining close to architecture, design, delivery and production problem-solving. The role combines people leadership with hands-on technical judgement: setting direction, making trade-offs, translating business needs into executable plans and creating the conditions for engineers to do their best work.

Profile for success

• Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring software-engineering teams.
• Proven delivery of complex software, digital-platform or customer-facing technology initiatives.
• Recent hands-on understanding of backend and frontend engineering, APIs and distributed systems.
• Strong practical knowledge of architecture, design patterns, scalability, reliability, security and performance.
• Experience shaping or executing technical roadmaps with Product and business stakeholders.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure or a comparable cloud environment.
• Evidence of improving engineering workflows, delivery capability, quality or platform performance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• A player-coach approach, with the credibility to engage in code, design and difficult technical problems.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
