General Position Summary
The Production Control Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the Production Control, Materials, and shipping functions. This position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure customer demand is effectively translated into production, inventory, manpower, material, and transportation plans that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
The position is accountable for department performance, employee capability and development, production control and inventory strategy, customer and supplier coordination, logistics(shipping) planning, international trade requirements, departmental budgets, and continuous improvement.
This role requires strong business judgment, the ability to manage complex and time-sensitive issues, and the ability to effectively balance customer requirements, production capacity, inventory levels, manpower, transportation, cost, and overall company objectives.
The Production Control Manager (also known as PC Manager) is expected to provide leadership during both normal operations and critical situations, utilizing appropriate escalation procedures and maintaining clear, concise, and confident communication with employees, leadership, customers, suppliers, and sister companies.

Essential Job Functions
Key Focus Areas
· Provide overall leadership, direction, and management of the Production Control, Materials, and Logistics functions.
· Assign responsibility, develop employee capability, and establish clear accountability throughout the department.
· Establish department direction, vision, goals, and long-term strategy consistent with company objectives.
· Develop and execute the department business plan.
· Establish, monitor, and improve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
· Ensure departmental procedures, standards, and best practices are developed, documented, trained, and consistently followed.
· Develop and maintain organizational structure, job descriptions, training requirements, and departmental training matrices.
· Plan, forecast, justify, and participate in the selection of department resources and staffing.
· Conduct performance evaluations based on completed work assignments, projects, business plan objectives, performance expectations, and overall contribution. Audit to ensure production follows Standardized Work instructions
· Utilize Plex ERP system to manage and optimize inventory, production scheduling, and order processing, ensuring real-time data access and seamless communication across departments.
· Adherent to environment regulations and company policies, promoting sustainability and safe handling practices per ISO 14001 standards.
· Monitor internal KPIs to identify performance gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.
· Develop and implement corrective actions and process improvements that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
· Conduct or participate in departmental audits, including:
o 5S
o Safety
o Documentation
o Inventory
o Process compliance and JSOX
· Ensure departmental procedures and practices remain aligned with company policies and applicable requirements.
· Demonstrate an understanding of FIA's Environmental Policy and actively participate in programs that improve environmental performance.
· Identify and communicate potential environmental non-conformances and support appropriate corrective actions.
· Demonstrate an understanding of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their potential impact on departmental activities.
· Develop improvement initiatives that support applicable company SDG objectives.
· Demonstrate an understanding of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) and participate appropriately during emergency situations.
· Provide consistent, professional communication to senior leadership, department employees, peers, customers, suppliers, and sister companies.
· Effectively communicate complex information in a clear, concise, and understandable manner.
· Conduct and participate in presentations to both small and large groups.
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence when managing employees, conflict, customer concerns, supplier issues, and crisis situations.
· Demonstrate confident and effective crisis-management skills, including the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
· Establish clear expectations, ownership, accountability, and follow-through within the department.
· Develop employees through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.
· Foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration while maintaining clear departmental accountability.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Project Management & Problem Solving
- Lead and support medium- and large-scale projects involving Production Control, Materials, Logistics, and cross-functional operations.
- Lead complex problem-solving activities and develop sustainable solutions.
- Establish short- and long-term action plans to address operational risks and opportunities.
- Review and approve project schedules and departmental priorities.
- Develop and utilize escalation plans when required.
- Provide leadership and direction during critical operational situations, customer issues, supplier disruptions, emergencies, and other high-priority events.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that improve operational performance, cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Work Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Production Control, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related manufacturing function.
- Minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing or supply-chain experience preferred.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems required.
- Experience with customer forecasting, inventory management, production planning, logistics, and supplier management preferred.
- Experience with international trade, customs, and USMCA requirements is preferred.

· Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
· Relevant certifications, technical education, or equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
