Position Title: Material Handling Laborer
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Grandview, MO
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Material Handling Laborer to support the National Weather Service National Reconditioning Center (NRC) in Grandview, MO. We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a willingness to jump in where needed. This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receive shipments from shippers.
- Accept shipments and move materials from the dock to the staging area.
- Unpack returned equipment and supplies.
- Assist with disassembly of returned electrical/electromechanical/telemetry equipment when required.
- Move parts and equipment to appropriate locations.
- Place parts and returned items on supply shelves.
- Pull parts/equipment from shelving for repair, resupply, or disposal.
- Pack reconditioned equipment.
- Place parts and equipment into boxes.
- Lift and stack boxes and parts onto pallets.
- Move boxes and pallets to/from shelving and warehouse locations.
- Operate electric carts and forklifts, as required.
- Unpacking, Packing, and Preparing shipments to vendors for reconditioning
- Deliver equipment to repair and inspection units at NRC.
- Assist with mail delivery.
- Assist with filing documentation.
- Assist with disposal of excess equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and physical inventory audits.
- Assist with documenting and labeling equipment as directed.
- Maintain orderly warehouse and staging areas.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) badge.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
This position is based in an warehouse environment and involve a combination of material handling, inventory management, equipment processing, computer-based inventory tracking, and coordination with team members.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move warehouse materials.
- Ability to lift and stack boxes and parts.
- Ability to operate forklifts/electric carts if required.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb, and work in warehouse storage areas.
- Ability to safely handle equipment of varying sizes and weights.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
- Follow detailed Government procedures.
- Work reliably in a repetitive, deadline-driven warehouse environment.
- Follow instructions regarding the movement, storage, packing, and disposition of equipment.
- Work cooperatively with the Lead and NRC staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, stocking, or related experience.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, packing and unpacking procedures, shipping and receiving, labeling and identification of materials, safe lifting and stacking techniques, and use of basic warehouse equipment.
- Valid Real-ID state-issued driver's license
- Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
- Excellent and accurate written communication
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
- Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
- Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
- Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality
