Data Integration Specialist

The Data Integration Specialist(API) is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise APIs using Kong API Gateway and Boomi API Management. This role ensures secure, scalable, and reusable API solutions while maintaining governance, performance, and operational excellence across the API ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand API integration requirements and design scalable API solutions.

● Design, develop, publish, secure, and support RESTful APIs using Kong API Gateway and Boomi API Management.

● Implement API policies including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, throttling, routing, and security.

● Develop API integrations following enterprise architecture, governance, and security standards.

● Monitor API availability, performance, and usage to ensure SLA compliance. ● Troubleshoot API issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.

● Work closely with integration, application, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end API solutions.

● Maintain API documentation, lifecycle management, versioning, and developer portal standards.

● Support CI/CD automation, API deployments, and environment management. ● Identify technical risks during development and testing and implement mitigation strategies for successful API delivery.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

● 3+ years of hands-on experience with API development and API Management platforms.

● Experience with Kong API Gateway and/or Boomi API Management.

● Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API security.

● Experience with Java, Spring Boot, JSON/XML, and cloud integration platforms.

● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

● Good communication and collaboration skills.

● Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
