Business Description:

The Physical Security Team at Blackstone protects the firm’s people, offices, and operations globally. This includes managing, assessing and mitigating risk, guard services, securing events, travel security, overseeing access control operations, and responding to physical security incidents. We are seeking a full-time APAC Regional Security Director based in our Bangalore office to lead physical security and crisis management operations across the region.

Job Description:

The BX-Bangalore Regional Security Director is a senior leader responsible for driving the strategy and execution of physical security operations with a primary focus on ensuring the safety and security of employees, offices, and assets. Reporting directly to the Global leadership, this role provides strategic oversight of regional security programs while addressing unique regional challenges. Key responsibilities include safeguarding employee well-being, mitigating risks, overseeing site security operations, managing travel security, developing and ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and local regulations. The role also requires strong leadership, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to benchmark security practices against industry peers to deliver a secure and resilient environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

The Regional Security Director will lead physical security efforts across the region, ensuring the safety and security of offices, personnel, and assets. They will oversee security operations, manage vendor relationships, establish budgets, and ensure alignment with best practices and industry benchmarks. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in physical security management, risk assessment, and program implementation, with strong leadership and communication skills. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Regional Security Strategy: Develop and execute physical security strategies across APAC offices and personnel, including site security, access control, incident response, travel security, and risk mitigation. Ensure alignment with best practices and industry benchmarks while addressing regional challenges. 

• Vendor and Partner Management: Oversee security vendors and integrators, ensuring service delivery meets contractual obligations and operational needs. Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements. 

• Incident Response and Crisis Management: Lead incident response efforts for security-related events, including investigations, post-incident reviews, and crisis management plans tailored to regional needs. 

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Facilities, IT, HR, Events, and other internal teams to integrate security into broader operational strategies. Build strong relationships with external security networks and industry peers to enhance benchmarking and intelligence sharing. 

• Travel Security: Develop and oversee travel security programs to ensure the safety of employees traveling within and outside the region. Provide guidance on risk mitigation and response protocols for high-risk travel. 

• Risk Management and Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with corporate security policies, local regulations, and audit standards. 

• Global Standard Alignment: Collaborate with the Global Head of Security to ensure regional security programs adhere to global standards. Implement consistent policies and procedures across all APAC sites. 

• Budget Management: Establish and manage budgets for regional security programs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations. 

• Capital Projects: Partner with facilities and contractors on space builds to ensure physical security through environmental design. 

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance security programs, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices. Promote a culture of security awareness and proactive risk management. 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:

Required:

• Overall 20+ years of experience
• 10+ years in Security Fields: 

• Experience managing physical security operations, crisis response, executive protection, and security programs across multiple sites and regions 

• Hands-on operational experience and strategic leadership. 

• Leadership and Management Experience: 

• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders, lead security teams, oversee vendors, and manage broad programs. 

• Experience supervising security personnel and managing cross-functional teams. 

• Regional or Multi-Site Experience:  

• Experience with managing security operations across a large geographic area and multiple locations. 

• Understanding of regional regulatory requirements and cultural nuance 

• Technical Expertise:  

• Strong knowledge of physical security systems (e.g. access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, threat intel) 

• Experience with emerging technologies (video analytics, security platforms, identity management systems) 

• Project Management Skills 

• Experience managing security-related projects including construction/renovation, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor oversight. 

Preferred or Additional Qualifications 

• Education: A master’s or bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration) preferred. 

• Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) helpful. 

• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, executive presence, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are critical for engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.  
   

Key Skills 

• Extensive experience in physical security management, including crisis management, executive protection, event security, access control, surveillance systems, and risk mitigation. 

• Strong leadership and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites and stakeholders across the region. 

• Knowledge of global security standards and local regulatory requirements within APAC. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. 

• Proven ability to manage vendors, oversee budgets, and deliver measurable results in security operations.
