What you'll do...
Role summary:Walmart is seeking an entrepreneurial Staff Product Manager to help identify, validate, prototype, and incubate new data and AI-powered products. This role is intentionally broad: part product strategist, part researcher, part designer, and part builder. You will work in highly ambiguous problem spaces, get close to customers, turn early signals into clear hypotheses, and rapidly test whether an opportunity is worth scaling.
About the team:
The Data Ventures Product team is responsible for building and scaling Walmart’s portfolio of data-driven products, transforming Walmart’s unique data assets into solutions that drive customer value and new revenue streams. As part of the Global Data & Ads Product team, our team operates at the intersection of data, technology, and commercialization, with platforms like Scintilla enabling suppliers and internal teams to unlock insights and improve performance. The team works in a fast-paced, 0 to 1 environment, partnering closely with Engineering, Design, Business Development, Legal, and Research to explore the next-generation products.
What you'll do:
- Own 0-to-1 discovery for new product opportunities, from problem identification through validation, prototyping, pilot, and scale/pivot/stop recommendations.
- Lead hands-on customer discovery and research: define learning goals, conduct interviews and concept tests, synthesize insights, and translate evidence into product decisions.
- Frame ambiguous problems with clear customer problems, hypotheses, and success metrics.
- Rapidly create concepts, and prototypes using design and AI-assisted tools to accelerate learning.
- Assess desirability, feasibility, viability, market dynamics, and Walmart’s differentiated right to win.
- Define MVPs and experiments, using qualitative/quantitative evidence to prioritize and make tradeoffs.
- Partner cross-functionally across Product, Design, UXR, Engineering, Data Science, Strategy, and Legal.
- Build compelling narratives and recommendations for senior leaders.
What you'll bring:
- Strong product management fundamentals and demonstrated success in ambiguous, 0-to-1 environments.
- Hands-on customer research experience, including planning and conducting research independently.
- Entrepreneurial, high-agency mindset with comfort wearing multiple hats across strategy, research, design, and execution.
- Strong product and design sense, with ability to create lightweight prototypes and POCs using modern AI tools.
- Excellent structured thinking and analytical skills to frame problems, develop hypotheses, evaluate opportunities, and define measurable outcomes.
- Strong communication and influence skills across cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and willingness to change direction based on evidence.
- Experience with data, AI/ML, B2B SaaS, or adjacent technology preferred.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.
