Internship - Unpaid

Job Summary

Pathways Behavioral Health is seeking motivated students who are interested in gaining practical experience in the behavioral health field. This is an unpaid internship opportunity designed to provide exposure to behavioral health services, administrative processes, client support, and the day-to-day operations of a behavioral health organization.

Interns will work alongside experienced staff and have opportunities to observe and assist with appropriate activities related to case management, skills training, community resources, documentation, program development, and other behavioral health services. Responsibilities will be assigned based on the intern's educational background, experience, university requirements, and level of supervision available.

General Accountabilities

• Supports the mission, vision, and values of Pathways Behavioral Health.
• Maintains professional and ethical behavior when interacting with clients, families, staff, and community partners.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA requirements and organizational policies.
• Assists staff with approved administrative, program, and client-support activities.
• Learns about behavioral health documentation, service planning, community resources, and care coordination.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, training, and other learning opportunities as assigned.
• Assists with community outreach, program development, and special projects when appropriate.
• Completes assigned internship responsibilities and required university documentation in a timely manner.
• Accepts supervision and feedback and demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Performs other internship-related duties appropriate to the intern's educational level and approved scope.

Internship Qualifications

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Behavioral Health, Sociology, or a related field.

Experience: Previous behavioral health experience is not required. Students seeking field experience, practicum hours, or professional exposure are encouraged to apply.

Training: Must complete all required Pathways Behavioral Health orientation and training before participating in assigned activities.
