Description
The Role in One Line:
Be the guardian of a university's entire digital campus — from classroom to cloud — where your security decisions keep education and breakthrough research running safely.
Why Join?
This isn't a back-office SOC monitoring job. You'll be trusted to design the security, own the response, and shape how thousands of students, professors and researchers work securely every day. If you love moving between architecture, hands-on defense, and mentoring dev teams — this is that rare blended role.
Budget - 8000 SGD per month + AWS + bonus discretionary
What You Will Actually Do:
Build Secure Foundations
You'll be the security architect in the room when new apps, cloud workloads, and third-party integrations are planned. You'll assess risks early, review architectures for hybrid environments, and make sure security isn't an afterthought.
Lead When It Matters
When SOC detects something, you take point. You'll coordinate containment, drive remediation with IT and business teams, and close the loop with honest post-mortems that make our playbooks smarter next time.
Make Vulnerabilities Disappear
You'll run proactive scans on high-value systems and applications, cut through the noise, prioritize what matters, and partner with developers to fix code-level issues fast. You track, you report, you get it fixed.
Turn Data Into Defense
You'll bring all security events, incidents, and findings into one clear picture — spot trends, use frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK to tell the story, and give leadership insights they can act on.
Raise The Bar
You'll constantly question if our clients standards and processes still work, push secure coding and OWASP practices into SDLC, and be the person who makes security awareness contagious across departments.
Who Thrives Here:
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field. Masters is a plus, not a must.
- 4-7 years in cybersecurity, ideally working shoulder-to-shoulder with dev teams on secure SDLC and code reviews
- You've done the work: Cloud security (AWS / Azure / GCP), SIEM & EDR, vulnerability management, firewalls, endpoint, app sec
- You can lead incident response — from triage to stakeholder comms to lessons learned
- Certified or working towards it: CISSP / CISM / CISA / Security+ / CEH / GIAC / AWS Security Specialty / Azure Security Engineer — we support it
- You can explain a complex threat in plain English, stay sharp under pressure, and love collaborating
The Person We're Looking For:
Curious, proactive, meticulous, and adaptable. Someone who spots risk before it becomes an incident and takes ownership to fix it.
