IMEG is hiring a Chemical Engineering New Graduate in Ann Arbor, MI. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one. You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to support engineering solutions and advice for chemical processes.
In this role, you will assist with project planning, technical calculations, design documentation, field work, and implementation oversight while supporting project budgets, deadlines, and client expectations. You will also collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams while gaining exposure to industrial and manufacturing projects with MEP-related work.

What You'll Do
· Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build client relationships through professional communication.
· Support the execution of consulting projects and assist with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
· Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
· Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
· Develop Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and assist in the development of equipment and instrument specifications.
· Assist in process controls design and development and perform and document technical calculations associated with design tasks.
· Perform field work to document existing conditions and current installations.
· Support cost estimate development, including quote solicitation from vendors, and assist in bid package documentation development.
· Review project construction progress and participate in quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in chemical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.
· Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with process plant environments.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
What You'll Bring
Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent required
Skills and Abilities
· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
· Skilled in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
· Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software
· Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
· Prior internship experience in the engineering consulting or chemical process industry preferred
· Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred
