Our vision: Nature is thriving in Aotearoa | Te Oranga o te Ao Tūroa
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Help keep the people who protect Aotearoa’s natural heritage safe and ready to protect Aotearoa’s precious places. As a National Uniform Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on role behind the scenes—making sure roughly 70% of DOC’s 3,500-strong team has the gear they need to do extraordinary work every day.
You’ll be the go-to expert ensuring staff receive the right uniform at the right time. Whether they’re heading into rugged fieldwork or representing DOC in a Visitor Centre or Office environment, supporting our people from their very first uniform order through every stage of their DOC journey. Working from our Nelson-based uniform store, you’ll collaborate with colleagues, site-champions, suppliers, and teams across the country to keep our uniform service running smoothly and consistently.
The position will:
- Coordinate uniform supply; manage orders, loans, returns, exchanges, repairs, alterations, and decommissioning
- Provide our people with guidance on sizing, fabrics, non-standard requirements, and general enquiries
- Maintain accurate staff uniform records, monitor stock levels, forecast needs, and oversee despatch processes
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who can offer flexibility in their availability. As a casual team member, some shifts may become available at short notice, so the ability to respond to changing work requirements would be highly valued.
If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:
- Experience with stock and warehousing systems
- Strong ability to maintain office systems, including orders, databases, customer records, and invoices
- Skilled at customer service and managing supplier relationships
- Ability to build effective, positive working relationships across teams
- A collaborative, adaptable team player who enjoys practical problem solving
- A quick learner of systems, and computer savvy
- An interest in contributing to DOC’s conservation mission through high-quality operational support
Even if you don’t tick all the boxes but believe your skills and experience closely align, then we still encourage you to apply.
He aha ngā pāinga mōu? | What’s in it for you?
