The University of Washington School of Medicine Academic, Rural, and Regional Affairs team has an outstanding opportunity for a FCM Program Coordinator to join their team.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Foundations of Clinical Medicine (FCM) Operations Specialist, the FCM Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional operational, curriculum, and program support for the UW School of Medicine Spokane Medical Education Office at Gonzaga University. This highly collaborative role partners with faculty, students, physicians, and administrative teams to help create a seamless educational experience across Foundations of Clinical Medicine, Primary Care Practicum, the Colleges program, and clinical learning experiences. This position is located in Spokane, Washington and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the training of future physicians.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Student Curriculum Support (60%)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student-facing support, communication, onboarding activities, and clinical compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate and execute logistics for clinical skills workshops, exams, hospital tutorials, student schedules, and Canvas course sites.
  • Lead administration of the Standardized Patient program, including recruitment, scheduling, documentation, orientation support, and supply coordination.
  • Facilitate student clinical experiences by managing scheduling updates, hospital badge processes, credentialing coordination, and activity tracking.
  • Support faculty mentors and educational events through event planning, vendor coordination, reimbursement processing, and program logistics.

Office Administration (30%)

  • Develop and maintain reports, correspondence, presentations, calendars, databases, and other administrative resources supporting educational programs.
  • Maintain student and community preceptor records while ensuring data accuracy through research, fact-checking, and ongoing updates.
  • Provide classroom technology support and troubleshoot instructional materials for workshops, examinations, and learning sessions.
  • Support budget reconciliation, office purchasing, inventory management, and receipt processing through Workday.

Special Projects and Event Planning (10%)

  • Coordinate special projects, events, and cross-functional initiatives that enhance the student and faculty experience.
  • Reserve and manage instructional and event spaces while supporting event logistics and project implementation.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of program and department goals.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in an academic setting with a high-volume of processes.

Additional Qualifications

  • Advanced word processing skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products to include MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Expertise with internet search and research, fact checking, and cross reference skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with community, employees, management, students, and physicians.
  • Excellent organizing and prioritizing skills with the ability to multitask and work under the pressure of constant deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all forms of communication.
  • Ability to work independently while being in a high functioning team.
  • Discretion with senior-level confidential student information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two years of progressively independent and complex administrative support experience.
  • Work experience in a health care setting or directly with physicians, and/or in higher education is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Sharepoint, and Asana programs.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional work beyond a standard 40-hour work week may be required.
  • Periodic evening and weekend work may be necessary to support events, presentations, meetings, and project deadlines.
  • This position is overtime eligible.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$47,256.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$63,156.00 annual
