Working as a Bank Housekeeper means you play a vital role in ensuring our home remains a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

Role & Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
• Complete daily cleaning duties including bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and kitchens
• Support with laundry services, including washing, drying, and ironing
• Follow infection control and COSHH guidelines at all times
• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and recorded accurately
• Work closely with the care team to support residents’ needs and preferences
• Monitor and report any maintenance or health and safety concerns

What We Are Looking For

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of hygiene, infection control, and safety standards (training provided)

As this is a Bank position, you will provide cover for annual leave, sickness, and additional support, so shifts and working days will vary.

Vera James House is a purpose-built residential care home for older people with 42 single rooms, all with ensuite facilities. Vera James House is designed to support older people living with dementia and other related conditions, as well as residents who require permanent or respite care in a residential setting.
