Risk Manager

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking incumbent and external qualified candidates to support North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyene Mountain Complex (NCMC) – Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract III (NISSC III). 

 This position is contingent on contract award 

 

The Risk Manager will lead enterprise risk management activities supporting mission-critical NORAD and USSPACECOM operations within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex environment. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining the program's risk and opportunity management process while identifying, assessing, tracking, and mitigating technical, operational, schedule, cost, cybersecurity, and transition risks throughout the program lifecycle. The Risk Manager will partner closely with Program Management, engineering, cybersecurity, operations, finance, logistics, and Government stakeholders to ensure proactive risk management supports mission readiness, successful program execution, and informed decision-making. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead enterprise Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) management across all functional areas.  

• Develop and maintain the Risk Management Plan, risk register, and governance processes.  

• Facilitate risk identification, analysis, prioritization, and mitigation planning.  

• Lead weekly Risk Working Groups and coordinate formal risk review boards.  

• Provide executive risk briefings to program leadership and Government customers.  

• Work with engineering, cybersecurity, software, logistics, operations, finance, and contracts to identify emerging risks.  

• Maintain accurate documentation in the program’s SharePoint RIO register.  

• Track mitigation plans, corrective actions, and burn-down metrics.  

• Assess risks related to technical performance, operations, schedule, cost, staffing, subcontractors, and transition.  

• Support proposal transition, contract stand-up, modernization, and engineering change activities.  

• Develop risk metrics, dashboards, and reports for PMRs and customer engagements.  

• Ensure alignment with quality, configuration management, and program controls.  

• Support lessons learned, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.  

• Ensure compliance with contractual and industry risk management standards. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

• Minimum Active DoD Secret clearance required to start 
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5+ years of experience; OR Master’s degree in related field and 3+ years of experience. An additional four (4) Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered . 
• Experience leading enterprise risk management activities on complex DoD or Intelligence Community programs. 
• Demonstrated experience managing technical, operational, financial, schedule, and organizational risks. 
• Experience developing and maintaining risk registers, mitigation plans, and executive risk reporting. 
• Experience supporting Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and executive decision-making. 
• Experience collaborating across engineering, cybersecurity, software, logistics, operations, contracts, and finance organizations. 
• Strong analytical, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills. 
• Experience supporting mission-critical or classified operational environments. 

Desired Qualifications 

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance desired 
• Prior experience supporting NISSC I/II, ITW/AA, NORAD, USNORTHCOM, USSPACECOM, or Cheyenne Mountain Complex programs. 
• Experience supporting strategic warning, command-and-control, missile warning, cyber, ISR, or space mission systems. 
• PMP, PMI-RMP, DAWIA, or equivalent project/risk management certification. 
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks. 
• Experience supporting operations, maintenance, and sustainment (OM&S) programs. 
• Experience using risk management and reporting tools such as Active Risk Manager (ARM), Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms. 
• Experience operating within TS/SCI mission environments. 
• Experience supporting large-scale contract transitions and modernization efforts.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
