About us

The Kingfish Company operates Kingfish-Zeeland, a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) farm near Kats producing yellowtail kingfish. Reliable maintenance of our life-support systems — biofilters, filtration, oxygenation, UV, pumps — is critical to fish health, water quality, and continuous production. 

Our highly automated production environment relies heavily on electrical systems, process control, and automation technology to operate efficiently and reliably.

 Duration: Approximately 6 months
Start Date: As soon as possible

 

The Assignment

To support our Technical Department, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Electrical Technician to help us catch up on outstanding electrical maintenance and improvement work during a period of significant site expansion.

The Technical Department is the beating heart of our operation. Without reliable electrical installations, production cannot run. During this assignment, you will work on both our existing facilities and ongoing expansion projects.

Responsibilities

  • Performing corrective and preventive electrical maintenance
  • Catching up on outstanding electrical work and modifications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving electrical faults
  • Working with PLC-controlled systems, including analog and digital I/O
  • Maintaining and commissioning frequency drives and electric motors
  • Supporting improvement and optimization projects
  • Assisting with electrical installations related to expansion projects
  • Performing ad hoc engineering and modification work where required
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of completed work

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician in an industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installations, motors, drives, and control systems
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled processes
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify solutions
  • Good troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • VCA certification is preferred
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage
  • Registered self-employed professional (ZZP) or equivalent freelance contractor
