Custom Castings is a member of the Nordstern Group of Companies, which also includes Protek Surface Technologies, Forte Tooling Technologies, and Sure Cast Aluminum Foundry. We are an integrated, single-source solutions provider delivering consistent, high-quality aluminum permanent mold castings to our customers.
We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Supervisor / Shift Leader to oversee daily facility and equipment operations. You will manage a team of maintenance technicians, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure work orders are completed efficiently to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate blends technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems with strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Supervise, and schedule a group of highly skilled individuals, assigning work orders based on skill level and priority.
Operations & Repair: Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of machinery, production equipment, overhead cranes, melting furnaces, CNC machines, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute and optimize the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule to maximize equipment reliability.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safe work procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and local safety standards across all shift operations.
Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Track spare parts usage, order replacement inventory, and supervise third-party contractors when needed.
Downtime Reporting: Document equipment failures, root-cause analyses, and shift metrics in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
What You Bring:
Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience. Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is considered an asset.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V preferred), hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC basic diagnostics.
Certifications: High school diploma or GED required; Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright Certificate (or equivalent trade certification) is considered an asset.
Software: Experience using a CMMS (e.g. Limble) for work order and inventory tracking is considered an asset
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied climate conditions.
