About the team
The Internationalization team at HERE develops processes, manages resources, and promotes best practices to facilitate the delivery of excellent global user experiences across our products and services. We also support the continuous creation and publication of highly effective technical documentation for our software and data products. Translation, localization and localization-testing are outsourced to external suppliers.
About the role
You will play a critical role in delivering HERE’s products and services to the global market. In this capacity, you will function as the localization manager, supporting teams across the company with their localization and translation needs. Key responsibilities include consultation, guidance on processes and tools, project planning and execution, and coordination with external localization suppliers.
Responsibilities
Act as a project manager for the Documentation and Internationalization team
Actively provide advice to our internal stakeholders according to their requirements
Ensure smooth project execution by managing expectations of all stakeholders
Plan and execute localization of our products and services by coordinating with our external localization suppliers
Improve processes and tools to facilitate the internationalization/localization efforts across HERE
Interface between multiple cross-functional teams and external service providers
Resolve issues by identifying the root cause and propose long-term improvements
Perform localization-readiness reviews using our tools and processes in order to ensure that UX copy text and documentation source files are ready to be translated and relevant metadata is present, which is a precondition to ensure high quality product localization
Ensure that best practices for writing English for localization are adhered to
Utilize the terminology tool TermWeb and drive the continuous development and integration of our multilingual corporate term database
Who are you?
- 5+ years project management experience in software and documentation internationalization/localization
- Mandatory: Experience working with/for localization and localization testing service providers
- Experience working closely with product development teams (designers, developers, QA, technical writers) throughout the entire software life cycle
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency with industry-standard terminology management systems and/or localization/translation tools; experience with Phrase is a big plus
- Experience from managing terminology in corporate or localization/translation service provider setting is a plus
