Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: 100 Thermon Dr, San Marcos, TX
Reports to: Production Manager
Overview:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced industrial environment to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets are met. This role requires a strong people leader who can motivate, develop, and manage a team while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position will work a rotational schedule as needed to support our wire plant production.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Operations Management
· Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets are achieved
· Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to meet production demands in a high-volume manufacturing environment
· Monitor production performance metrics (e.g., throughput, downtime, scrap, OEE) and implement corrective actions
· Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing best practices
· Others as assigned by management.
People Leadership & Development
· Lead, coach, and develop a team of production employees, including training, performance management, and employee engagement
· Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-first work culture
· Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and feedback sessions
· Address employee relations issues in partnership with HR, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies
Safety & Compliance
· Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
· Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
· Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to environmental and regulatory standards
Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains
· Support Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, maintenance, quality) to optimize production processes
Quality Assurance
· Ensure products meet all quality specifications and regulatory requirements
· Partner with the quality team to investigate and resolve production issues
· Drive accountability for quality at all levels of the production team
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field)
· 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
· Demonstrated experience managing teams and driving performance
· Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and operational metrics
· Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
· Familiarity with ERP or production management systems

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift) in a manufacturing environment
· Frequent use of hands for operating equipment, handling materials, and performing repetitive motions
· Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25–50 pounds, with or without assistance
· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs or ladders as needed
· Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, dust, and machinery
· Visual acuity to monitor production processes, read documents/screens, and identify safety or quality issues
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection, other safety gear
· Capability to respond quickly to emergency situations and maintain situational awareness in a fast-paced setting
