As the Financial Controlling Specialist, you will oversee core financial controlling, reporting, and accounting execution for Roche Diagnostics Chile. Reporting directly to the Country Finance Manager, your role is pivotal in driving process excellence, delivering financial insights, managing local finance execution, and closely collaborating with our Shared Service Center in Costa Rica as well as our Regional LATAM Finance Team.
About the Opportunity:
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly financial reports and performance presentations to monitor actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and key financial KPIs.
Cost management: Drive cost discipline across the affiliate by tracking monthly operating expenses, analyzing variances, and partnering with department heads to recommend actionable corrective measures for budget overruns.
Business Planning: Lead the execution of the affiliate’s annual 1-to-4-year financial planning cycles, coordinating inputs across all departments in close collaboration with the wider Finance team.
Month-end closing: Oversee month-end closing activities, serving as the local operational counterpart to Roche’s Shared Services Center to ensure strict alignment with IFRS and internal accounting guidelines.
Operational Excellence: Foster a culture of simplicity and continuous improvement by challenging old habits, and standardizing and automating processes and reports.
Financial Governance: Ensure compliance with financial practices, established processes and internal controls.
Trainee Development: Provide day-to-day functional guidance and task support to the Finance Trainee, helping build core financial capabilities across the affiliate.
Qualification:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or in a related discipline.
Previous relevant experience in in Financial Planning & Analysis, cost controlling or financial accounting, ideally in a multinational company.
Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex financial numbers into clear, actionable insights for commercial stakeholders.
Proactive problem-solving attitude with a continuous learner mindset, adaptability, and high drive for growth.
