Role Description
The Digital Project Manager is a strategic partner responsible for leading cross-functional teams and programs across digital and technology initiatives. The role encompasses end-to-end project ownership — from scoping and planning through delivery — while interfacing with key account roles (Technical Project Managers, agencies, and clients) to ensure smooth operations and delivery within established SLAs.
Working across web development, mobile, eCommerce, digital marketing campaigns, and manufacturing transformation programs, the Digital Project Manager drives demand management and forecast monitoring, evaluates trade-off decisions on project resourcing and capacity, and proactively resolves or escalates issues related to pipeline, capacity, and scope. In regulated environments (e.g., pharmaceutical), the role also navigates medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review processes and ensures full compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Management
Lead cross-functional teams and programs composed of multiple projects and workstreams of moderate-to-high complexity, ensuring successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
Manage end-to-end delivery of digital tools, campaigns, and/or manufacturing transformation programs.
Maintain project timeframes, budget estimates, status reports, and resource allocation plans.
Initialize and plan programs spanning multiple locations and varying levels of complexity.
Track project schedules, scope, and budgets using Agile or Waterfall frameworks; identify risks and deploy effective mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder & Client Management
Interface and interlock between key account roles — Technical Project Managers, agencies, and clients — to ensure smooth operations within established SLAs.
Partner with DD&T and business area leaders across multiple functions to identify, plan, and prioritize major programs and projects.
Act as SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for site and DD&T PMO, following site PMO processes and governance standards.
Provide regular progress reports to leadership and field teams; incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
Scoping & Solutioning
Scope and solution web development projects, marketing campaigns, and client initiatives.
Determine optimal prioritization of work within DD&T initiatives based on business value and available resources.
Identify process improvement opportunities and provide optimization recommendations and solutions.
Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and align solutions with technology strategy and enterprise plans.
Resource & Capacity Management
Identify project staffing variations (augmentation/reductions) through demand management and forecast monitoring.
Evaluate and make trade-off decisions about project resourcing and capacity based on the project pipeline.
Support processes for assigning budget and resources to programs/projects (e.g., MRP/MYC submissions).
Direct and coach project team members; assess strengths and weaknesses and provide growth guidance.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure program/project governance effectively aligns with technology strategy, roadmaps, and enterprise plans.
Navigate medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review processes for all digital content in regulated environments.
Assure appropriate prioritization and alignment with organizational strategy, with proper resource allocation.
Provide input into the development of global policies for program and project governance, planning, delivery, and oversight.
