Position Summary
The Business Process Analyst I (BPA) - Data Exchange Analyst is responsible for supporting the business community by working directly with customers and third-party administrators to establish and maintain inbound and outbound EDI and API connections related to eligibility.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Assist customers and third-party administrators with implementation, testing and support of inbound data connections.
- Support external customers and internal processing areas by trouble shooting transmission or formatting issues.
- Act as a liaison between the business community and IT.
- Supply technology vendors and/or plan holders plan specific requirements based upon Guardian’s internal systems and standard formats.
- Work with vendors and/or plan holders to understand their abilities to pass us data and provide solutions to situations/formats outside of Guardian’s standard formats.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding connection(s)
- Perform thorough user acceptance testing of inbound eligibility files.
- Providing ‘Best in Class’ service to our customers based on the channel of their preference.
- Handle complex calls requiring the analyst to lead a customer through difficult technical data
- Attend relevant training, job sharing, mentoring and establishing personal networks.
- Maintain procedural guidelines.
- Report system related problems
- Actively participate in team meetings.
- Assists other team members when necessary to meet established deadlines and customer expectations.
Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Group Benefit Operation (GBO) Team Leader who, in turn, reports to the Group Benefit Operation (GBO) Director.
Functional Skills
Required:
- Experience working with HIPAA data files
- Strong computer skills: Text Pad (or other EDI file viewing application) and MS Excel
- Strong ability to manipulate data files to create output in various formats
- Exhibits flexibility in handling multiple tasks, responding rapidly to changing priorities and working within tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Requires ability to function in a team environment and build strong working relationships
Preferred:
- Experience working in insurance industry
Position Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- High School or equivalent required
Travel
- This is a remote WFH role
- Travel may be required, approximately 10%.
Salary Range:
$49,260.00 - $73,890.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
