What you'll do...
Role summary:The Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, oversees and guides associates in maintaining and enhancing exterior facility operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and quality standards while managing landscaping, seasonal maintenance, and equipment upkeep. The position involves coordinating work assignments, supporting training and development, and implementing improvements to optimize facility performance and cost efficiency. The Lead Technician also manages vehicle maintenance and safety protocols, provides technical expertise, and fosters collaboration to meet business objectives, all while upholding company policies and promoting a safe, productive work environment.
About the team:
The Facility Services Exterior Services team ensures clean, safe, and well-maintained exterior environments across multiple locations. They collaborate with management and partners to perform preventive maintenance, landscaping, groundskeeping, exterior cleaning, and seasonal services while adhering to safety and environmental standards. The team manages equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and consistent service. Leveraging expertise in exterior maintenance and facility care, they identify opportunities, address service needs, and implement action plans that promote clear communication and dependable execution, enhancing curb appeal, safety, and overall facility performance.
What you'll do:
- Supervise and support associates by assigning duties, providing feedback, and monitoring performance to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Train and coach associates on company policies, procedures, and compliance with external regulations such as OSHA and DOT.
- Manage landscape maintenance, including planting, pruning, pest control, and seasonal exterior tasks like snow and ice removal.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety checks and proper documentation.
- Coordinate equipment purchases, budget preparation, and facility upgrades to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Lead teamwork efforts, communicate priorities, and promote continuous improvement and adherence to company standards.
What you'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience in supervising, coaching, and developing associates to achieve performance goals.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscape management, and exterior facility maintenance practices.
- Ability to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and DOT.
- Skilled in operating, inspecting, and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment safely.
- Proficient in managing budgets, sourcing materials, and coordinating equipment purchases.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills to address customer needs and resolve issues.

The hourly wage range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Ability to to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass a motor vehicle report.
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
