The Role
This role is pivotal in helping the business manage, control and optimise indirect purchasing costs across goods and services. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business, using strong communication and commercial skills to secure the best overall value while maintaining quality, service and contractual compliance. The role requires a proactive self-starter with strong analytical capability, attention to detail and the ability to ensure that parts, services and contracts are delivered in line with business requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Main duties
- Driving the team to achieve the goals and target set by the business.
- Developing the direct reports to achieve a fully autonomous department.
- Managing the budget for the department and ensuring all targets are met.
- Developing process and procedures to effectively manage the indirect spend within the team and wider business.
- Targeting cost saving & consolidation opportunities in the indirect categories whilst maintaining quality and service.
- Analysing the current spends and look for opportunities to save costs in line with the business KPI’s.
- Drive and develop a reliable, sustainable, and robust supply chain for alternatively sourced parts and services.
- Managing and maintaining contracts and long-term agreement for all newly sourced parts and services.
- Managing bids and tenders for all contracting and consumable spend work
- Reducing the burden on BBL trading terms and import duties (where applicable) and taxes.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received, ensuring that any issues are fully investigated and resolved.
- Develop and introduce KPI's throughout the indirect categories.
- Attending internal meetings as and when necessary, with various departments.
- Compliance with the processes and procedures in place within BBL.
- Working on other projects as and when required
- Providing management reports as required
- Any other tasks that may be deemed necessary.

Essential Skills:
- Good negotiation skills.

- Experience working with suppliers.
- Relevant working experience in a “hands on” procurement role.
- Working knowledge of MRP/APS systems
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.
Desired skills
- CIPS certified, desirable but not essential.
