An opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join Marsh within our Information Technology team, based in Melbourne.
The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the design, analysis and delivery of technology and process-based solutions across digital, operational and transformation initiatives. Working in partnership with business, technology and operational stakeholders, the role elicits and documents business requirements, analyses current and future-state processes, supports solution design, and contributes to successful implementation and testing.
This role contributes to multiple concurrent initiatives, including claims and financial system enhancements, digitising claim forms, client facing internet portals, compliance-related enhancements, data and document migration including systems integration, and process automation. The position requires strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement, process mapping, data analysis and the ability to translate business needs into clear business requirements documents leading to complete and concise functional requirements.
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Technology or related discipline preferred
- Professional experience across operations, finance, technology or transformation environments is preferred.
- Experience in business analysis, process improvement, systems change, digital transformation or technology delivery environments.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting and validating business and functional requirements across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in process mapping, workflow analysis and documenting current-state and future-state operating models.
- Experience supporting system enhancements, data analysis, migration activities, testing and implementation.
- Experience working across business and technology teams on concurrent initiatives with competing priorities.
- Exposure to banking, finance, treasury, insurance, claims management, payments, operational transformation, document management systems or compliance-related change is advantageous
- Strong business analysis capability, including requirements elicitation, documentation, traceability and solution support.
- Strong process analysis and process mapping skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review data, identify exceptions and support remediation activities.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, structured functional requirements, business rules and process documentation.
- Experience supporting testing activities, including UAT and BAT planning, scenario development, execution support and defect management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, operations and technology teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent initiatives.
- Knowledge of digital workflows, structured data capture, system integration and document/data migration principles.
- Understanding of financial operations, payments workflows, system controls and Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Client related process impacts is advantageous.
