A new Formulated Job that modified and expanded scope of the Automation manager to add the new Scope of operation network and digitalization capabilities to transform the plants lines and Equipment to integrates into the Industry 4.0 technology and safeguard business continuity from the new generation of cyber attaches while maintaining operation connectivity and on time data visibility  

  • Reporting line changed from BU lead to multi-country OU lead.
  • Deploy, Govern, maintain and upgrade Plants OT Network and automation and control technologies for Egypt PO1 Bev and Snacks lines to ensure that the digital Assets of the lines are operating according to design and IT/OT polices.
  • Acts as Key technical focal point for the BU Disaster recovery and remediation of digital manufacturing asset
  • Develop and implement comprehensive OT security policies and strategies that align with industry standards
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in OT networks and systems and creates plans to address them and close the gap.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of security controls, such as firewalls and network segmentation, that are specifically designed for the unique protocols of OT environments.
  • Guide the integration of new technologies, like the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), while ensuring these systems are secure from the start.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce global standards, and procedures specifically for the OT environment, covering areas like access control, patch management, network segmentation, and incident response. These must be tailored to the unique operational requirements of a production facility.
  • Design a comprehensive strategy to protect all OT systems, including Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and other automation technology. This framework must align with business objectives, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of OT systems to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential threats. Develop mitigation plans and implement controls to protect critical assets and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure all OT security measures comply with relevant industry standards and government regulations. Manage internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance and address any findings.
  • Design and manage the segmentation of the OT network from the IT network (and other parts of the OT network) to prevent the lateral movement of cyber threats. 
  • Manage a robust vulnerability and patch management program for OT systems.
  • Develop and deliver specialized security training programs for engineers to foster a security-first culture and ensure they understand their role in protecting the production environment.
  • Assess and manage the cybersecurity risks associated with third-party vendors and suppliers who provide OT equipment and services.
  • Lead technical discussions with related OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to decide and improve machine performance.
  • Review and validate networks design and architecture and related technical proposal from the OEMs, to ensure compliance & completion with the preset requests.
  • Investigate and study new Digitization and law cost automation applications and Build Real time monitors, tools and Dashboards to drive Automation productivity opportunities in line with
  • Industry 4.0 & Digital value chain best practices.
  • Search and assess new technologies related to new lines, new upgrades, to ensure that it will deliver the required results.
  • Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of all OT assets.
  • Plan AOP/SBP for concerned area of expertise, ensuring that it includes all upgrades.
  • Lead Digital transformation and OT networks projects in All Egypt Beverage and Snacks Sites (10 plant & 43 lines)
  • Act as technical expert for automation, cybersecurity and OT network for all big projects 
  • Manage Automation, cyber security and OT network contracts and deliverables for OT to achieve categories performance (net and true efficiency, cost, productivity) versus AOP.
  • Set, plan, and identify the gaps to decide on action plans to fill in the gaps in coordination with the plant managers.
  • Acts As L2 Escalations for Controls, OT network and Automations breakdowns and Issues for Maintenance managers.
  • Lead root cause analysis for automation, OT networks breakdown and participates in the initiation of the solution with the maintenance team and OEM.
  • Work as a regular remote resource for the concerned categories to cover all the plants, to assess equipment or resolve breakdowns with maintenance teams/operate and maintain teams where applicable.
  • Lead preventive maintenance plan for OT network in alignment with the maintenance managers / operate and maintain teams where applicable.
  • Manage the warranty period with the OEM, to ensure the benefit of the warranty in needed cases.
  • Act as focal point for the specialized area in case of any new initiatives/ plans cascade from the region (cyber security, law cost Automation, Engineering).
  • Ensure equipment is meeting operations and safety standards, and sustain targets and decide on actions in case of deviation from targets
  • Lead Projects related to Digitization and automation projects for SP&L, Quality & Agro
  • Lead Localization Task force to ensure correct technical implementation 
  • Lead Machinery and equipment safety standards projects Own Cyber security testing procedure  
  • Engineering Equipment SME (Subject matter expert). Responsible for guiding, governing, and developing maintenance teams across plants.
  • Lead Projects related to OT network and Cybersecurity.
  • Lead the Maintenance teams in the plants in the advanced troubleshooting.
  • Coach/ train the maintenance teams, to improve their capabilities as an expert in Automation, cyber security and OT network.

Qualifications

  • Deep Knowledge OF OT & IT network architectures and programming applications and IDC Soft wear and Hardware designs
  • Solid Knowledge of PLC control & software (Siemens & Alan Bradly)
  • Solid knowledge of Communication networks (ASI bus, Profibus ether net, ……etc.)  as well as OT infrastructure architecture and maintenance
  • Very solid electrical & mechanical background in industrial lines
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills for software and hardware components

Prior Work Experience:

12-15 years’ experience in Engineering maintenance, OT networks & Automation for FMCG preferably in food / pharmaceutical industries.
