Patient Access Team Lead - Position Summary
At Strivant Health, our Patient Access teams play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely access to care while supporting accurate reimbursement for healthcare providers. As a Patient Access Team Lead, you will provide leadership, coaching, and operational support for teams responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, authorization coordination, financial clearance, and patient liability activities.
This role combines leadership, training, quality oversight, and hands-on operational support. You will help team members navigate complex patient access scenarios, resolve account issues, monitor quality and productivity, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate is passionate about developing people, solving problems, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You’ll Do – Your Impact Matters
- Lead, coach, and develop Patient Access team members to achieve quality, productivity, and service goals.
- Support patient registration, insurance verification, authorization, financial clearance, and patient liability workflows.
- Conduct quality reviews and provide feedback to improve accuracy, compliance, and patient experience.
- Assist with onboarding, training, SOP development, and ongoing staff development initiatives.
- Review complex accounts, resolve escalated issues, and provide guidance on challenging patient access scenarios.
- Monitor performance trends, analyze reports, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with patients, provider offices, payers, and internal revenue cycle teams to ensure timely account resolution.
- Support special projects, inventory management, and operational needs as business demands require.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in patient access, registration, insurance eligibility verification, authorizations, financial clearance, or medical financial services.
- Previous team lead, mentoring, coaching, or training experience required.
- Experience working with U.S. healthcare clients or healthcare operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient registration, insurance verification, authorizations, and financial clearance processes.
- Experience with EMRs, patient accounting systems, eligibility platforms, authorization tools, or payer portals.
- Understanding of healthcare reimbursement, insurance coverage, government payers, and managed care processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and support multiple clients or workflows simultaneously.
