Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support to employees and management throughout the organization. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and concerns and supports the organization in areas including onboarding, employee relations, job changes, compensation, recruiting, investigations, and HR administration.

The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters. This position works closely with employees, managers, and leadership to ensure HR policies and processes are effectively communicated and consistently administered.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding process for all staff employees, including preparing offer letters, completion of required employment documentation, running pre-employment screenings, coordination of orientation, and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Process employee job changes, transfers, promotions, and other employment status changes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees, providing guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and other employment matters.
  • Respond to employee questions, concerns, and requests while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Support employee relations by addressing workplace concerns and assisting management with appropriate resolution of employee issues.
  • Assist with employee relations investigations as needed, including gathering information, assisting with interviews, documenting findings, and maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
  • Partner with managers and supervisors to provide guidance regarding employee performance, attendance, conduct, workplace concerns, and application of HR policies.
  • Support recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, conducting recruiting-related activities, and assisting with the hiring process.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure HR transactions and employee information are accurately maintained in HRIS and other applicable systems.
  • Assist with the interpretation and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Support management and leadership with day-to-day HR issues and provide guidance on appropriate HR practices.
  • Assist with special HR projects, initiatives, audits, and process improvements as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional HR experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of general HR practices, employee relations, recruiting, and HR administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn and utilize HRIS and other HR systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
  • Willing to travel as needed for investigations, recruiting, or other HR events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Experience in a recruiting or talent acquisition environment.
