Research Analyst I - Genetic Medicine (Term Position)

Job Summary:

This position will be a hybrid role with the possibility of fully remote depending on the candidate, to directly support research activities related to inherited cancer predisposition, germline and tumor genomics, and outcomes/care delivery research. Responsibilities will involve direct contact with individuals, either by phone or electronically, who are participating in research or interested in learning more about the research, education, and engagement efforts focused on inherited cancer. Under direct supervision, the Research Analyst I will assist the research team in conducting epidemiological studies focused on inherited cancer predisposition. Duties include recruitment and enrollment of participants, data collection, maintenance of study records, and other activities that support the success of approved research protocols.

A Term position is a staff position that exists for a period longer than six months but is not expected to last beyond one year. Although a position may exist for a specified or indefinite period, staff who accept term positions are not guaranteed employment for the entire period; they are employed for indefinite periods within the limit of the appointment. There are no guarantees of continued employment, either within the term or when the term ends.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with the recruitment and enrollment of participants for approved research protocols under direct supervision. This involves contacting those interested in joining the research protocols and existing study participants by phone, email, or mail.

• Disseminate study questionnaires, collect participant responses, and abstract relevant information from medical records for accurate entry into research databases.  

• Maintains research records and study documentation. This involves filing paper records and maintaining HIPAA compliance with respect to identifiable information.

• Monitor and maintain inventory of study supplies and materials.

• Participate in research meetings with other members of the research team to discuss ongoing research activities.

• May supervise, plan, and assign work to student assistants.

• Perform other research-related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Less than 1 year of experience in research, healthcare, public health, or data management
