As part of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at First Citizens Bank, the Senior Information Security Engineer (SailPoint Developer) will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of SailPoint Identity Governance solutions. This role will focus on application onboarding, workflow development, lifecycle automation, provisioning integrations, and identity governance capabilities across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills, experience in software development and IAM engineering, and a solid understanding of identity lifecycle management and access governance processes. This individual will support multiple IAM initiatives while contributing to platform enhancements, automation, and continuous improvement efforts.

About the Team

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Program supports end-to-end identity governance and access management for employees, contractors, and enterprise applications. The team is responsible for delivering secure, automated, and compliant identity lifecycle and access governance capabilities across the organization.

Impact

This position resides within the Cyber Security organization and supports the engineering, development, enhancement, and maintenance of SailPoint Identity Security solutions. The role will contribute to application onboarding, workflow implementation, lifecycle automation, provisioning integrations, and access governance initiatives.

This individual contributor role reports directly to the IAM Program Manager and collaborates closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Design, develop, configure, and support SailPoint IdentityIQ and/or SailPoint Identity Security Cloud solutions.
• Implement and maintain identity lifecycle processes including Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) workflows.
• Develop and customize SailPoint workflows, rules, forms, policies, and provisioning processes.
• Onboard enterprise applications into SailPoint through connector-based and custom integrations.
• Configure aggregation, correlation, identity mapping, entitlement harvesting, and provisioning capabilities.
• Develop custom integrations using REST APIs, Web Services, JDBC, LDAP, and other supported connectors.
• Create and maintain access request, approval, certification, and recertification workflows.
• Configure and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) models.
• Support Segregation of Duties (SoD) policy implementation and compliance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve provisioning, aggregation, certification, and identity governance issues.
• Develop scripts and automation solutions to improve platform efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with application owners and technology teams to gather requirements and onboard applications.
• Support platform upgrades, testing, deployment activities, and production releases.
• Participate in code reviews and follow secure development practices.
• Maintain technical documentation including design documents, runbooks, SOPs, and configuration standards.
• Ensure adherence to security policies, regulatory requirements, and audit obligations.

Skills and Qualifications (Functional and Technical Skills)

Functional Skills

• Strong experience in SailPoint application onboarding and identity governance implementations.
• Ability to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical IAM solutions.
• Experience implementing identity lifecycle management and access governance processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Technical / Business Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management or Identity Governance Administration (IGA).
• 3+ years of hands-on SailPoint IdentityIQ
• Strong understanding of IAM concepts including:

• Understanding of LDAP, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and enterprise authentication mechanisms.
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and Single Sign-On (SSO) concepts is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• SailPoint IdentityIQ Engineer Certification
• Experience working in banking, financial services, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience integrating cloud and SaaS applications with SailPoint.
• Exposure to ServiceNow, CyberArk, Entra ID, or other IAM technologies.
• Understanding of audit, compliance, and access governance requirements.
