Description – Sanitation 1 (Entry Level)
Location: Mason, OH
Shift: 2nd 2pm-10pm Sun-Thur
Function: Sanitation
Job Classification: Hourly – Entry Level
About the Role
The Sanitation 1 position ensures that all production areas, equipment, and tools are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition in compliance with Kraft Heinz food safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role is essential for supporting a safe and high-quality manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, floors, drains, walls, and designated areas according to established procedures and schedules.
- Dismantle and reassemble basic equipment for proper cleaning and sanitation. (Assumption: Entry-level tier focuses on basic tear-down tasks.)
- Handle and apply cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with SDS (Safety Data Sheet) guidelines. (Assumption: Chemical use required, with provided training.)
- Operate sanitation support equipment such as hoses, foaming units, and scrubbers.
- Adhere strictly to Kraft Heinz safety policies, GMP, and food safety requirements at all times.
- Complete sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation accurately for compliance and audit readiness.
- Identify and report any potential safety or quality concerns
Physical Requirements (Assumptions based on standard plant sanitation roles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in wet or humid environments.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working at moderate heights and bending, crouching, or reaching as needed.
- Tolerant of exposure to cleaning chemicals with proper PPE provided.
- Forklift Certified or ability to be certified
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to sanitation excellence.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment disassembly/reassembly.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Training & Certification (Assumptions for entry-level roles)
- No prior certifications required; all food safety, chemical handling, and Lockout/Tagout training will be provided by Kraft Heinz.
