Help Build the Commercial Future of a Leading Private Label Bakery Manufacturer
We're partnering with an established, financially strong food manufacturer specializing in private label in-store bakery and deli products for many of North America's largest grocery retailers.
The company develops and manufactures cakes, decorated desserts, cookies, brownies, deli crackers, seasonal bakery programs, and other case-ready bakery products, combining strong product development capabilities with flexible manufacturing to create customized solutions for retail customers.
After years of success built on operational excellence and long-standing customer relationships, the organization is making a significant investment in commercial growth. This newly created leadership role will build the commercial strategy, expand key customer relationships, and help create the sales and marketing organization that will drive the company's next chapter.

What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the company's commercial growth strategy.
- Expand relationships with major grocery retailers, private label customers, distributors, and select foodservice accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities across desserts, cookies, deli crackers, seasonal bakery programs, and custom-developed products.
- Partner closely with Operations, Product Development and Supply Chain to commercialize innovative customer solutions.
- Build sales processes, CRM discipline and commercial infrastructure.
- Coach and develop a growing commercial organization.
- Represent the company with key customers, industry partners and at major trade shows.
What We're Looking For
This role requires deep commercial experience within the bakery industry, with a strong preference for candidates who have successfully sold private label programs to major grocery retailers.
We're interested in leaders who understand the complexities of commercializing fresh and frozen bakery products, managing retailer-specific programs, and partnering with manufacturing to bring new products to market.
Ideal experience includes:
- 10+ years of progressive sales or commercial leadership within the bakery industry
- Significant experience selling private label products to major grocery retailers and national accounts
- Experience with categories such as:
- Decorated cakes and celebration cakes
- Cookies, brownies and dessert bars
- In-store bakery products
- Retail-ready bakery programs
- Seasonal and everyday bakery items
- Deli bakery products, including crackers, crostini and pita crisps
- Strong understanding of retailer commercialization, category reviews, RFPs, product launches and customer-specific product development
- Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Product Development, Supply Chain and Marketing
- A track record of winning new business while growing strategic customer relationships
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build commercial strategy, sales processes and a high-performing team
