Associate Manager, Quality Engineering EU

 

ROLE SUMMARY

 

This position will manage regional quality engineering tasks concerning production of finished goods at European External Manufacturers and EU suppliers to ensure quality is driven into the products and manufacturing processes at every stage of product development and realization, with support and supervision of Quality Engineering Manager and Quality Engineering Associate Manager EU.

The scope of the role includes supporting local, regional and global projects to introduce new products or changes of existing ones, suppliers auditing and improvement practices and supporting quality escalations for prompt and effective resolution. This position requires a high level of daily interaction with SCJ internal functions (Supply Planning, Procurement, RD&E and Regional Quality) and external parties (External manufacturers and raw materials and pack materials suppliers).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The key accountabilities and activities, under supervision of Associate Manager Quality, will include:

 

NPDs/ Major products restages - Project support:

Join cross functional product development teams to ensure quality is driven into the product and manufacturing process at early stages of product development.

NPDs at suppliers/External Manufacturers (EMs), new materials, machine acquisition, process change introduction at EM:

• Execute SQA audit at new EMs and suppliers
• Facilitate and review critical specification development.
• Participate in product design reviews.
• Develop product related quality success criteria.
• Directly lead and participate in the definition of product specific defects list/AQLs.
• Participate and contribute to projects Technical Reviews

Product & Process validation support:

• Support quality aspects of PPV and PLQ at suppliers and EMs sites.
• Support process capability studies at EMs sites.
• Use statistical techniques to develop and improve products and processes.
• Develop quality control plans for new processes at EMs and suppliers.
• Review defect classification list after PLQ at EMs and suppliers.
• Support specification finalization.

Post launch support:

• Review production ramp up. Identify methods and technologies to improve quality.
• Input to analysis of quality incidents, Escalated Non Conformances & critical consumer complaints resolution support.
• EM and suppliers performances monitoring and product conformity assessment using different auditing tools on site at EMs (SQA audit, FG audit, Product compliance audit).

 

 

Responsible for practicing SCJ Safety, Health & Environment guidelines in daily work and considering Safety, Health & Environment aspects and impacts when developing plans, methods or procedures.

 

DESIRED SKILL REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE

 

Education requirements:

• BS in Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent Technical educational background.
• Fluent English.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

• 6 months - 1y Experience in Quality function; EMs quality management experience represents competitive advantage.
• Suppliers auditing experience and skills.
• Knowledge of applied statistics tools including process capability, sampling, and design of experiments.
• Knowledge of major Quality Standards (ISO 9000 series, ISO 2859, ISO 22716...).
• Knowledge of basic technologies and equipment used in household products.
• Knowledge of basic lean methodology and risk management approach.

The expected gross salary range for this position is between 33.900,00 EUR - 44.500,00 EUR. Job related skills, experience, and education, will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive, and/or long-term incentives.
