As a Cook at our South Paris home, you’ll have the opportunity to use your culinary skills every day while preparing nutritious, delicious meals for the Veterans who call our home their own.

What You'll Do

As a Cook, you will:

• Prepare and serve high-quality meals for our residents according to established menus and recipes.
• Prepare meals that meet a variety of nutritional and therapeutic dietary needs.
• Follow safe food handling, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining high standards for quality and presentation.
• Help create a positive dining experience for our residents.
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
• Provide direction and supervision to Food Service Workers in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service, including meal preparation and cooking.
• Healthcare or institutional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
